Newmarket Golf Club
Cambridge Road, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 0TG United Kingdom
Golf came to Newmarket when Colonel Henry McCalmont; millionaire soldier, Member of Parliament for Newmarket East and owner of 'Isinglass' which won the Derby and St Ledger in 1893, decided to own his own 9 hole golf course for his horse racing friends.
The attractive and mature 18-hole (par72) course of some 6582 yards was redesigned by that great golf course artichect Colonel Hotchkin, whose golf courses at Woodhall Spa, Ashridge and elsewhere are among the finest in the country. From the point of view of design the Links at Newmarket conforms to his very high standards.Book a Tee Time

Played this course for the first time in the Seniors Open Pairs, 2009. Course is quite flat, but nevertheless with many interesting holes. There are a few drives (beginning with the first) over the racecourse rails that surround the course. Well worth playing if you get the chance.
