What the club says: Lickey Hills Golf Course is the home of Rose Hill Golf Club and was established in 1921, the land was gifted by Cadburys to be used as a golf course and is currently run by “MyTime Golf”. The course is considered to be one of the best municipal golf courses in the country. The course is an undulating parkland course with banks of forest pines and far reaching views, so if you are not quite on your game you can still enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Greenkeepers had worked hard and had to cut a few channels to help drain water. Course was good and idea for first outing of the year. (Round played: Feb 2014 - Score: 92 Handicap: 26.8)

Played lickey hills last week , what a gorgeous golf course and well maintained with lovely views. The greens had obviously just been renovated which made them slow but I would rather see that than no maintenance , a course that is a jot to okay on , I will be back soon

Thought my luck was in when I paid £9 but I got what I paid for. I should have took a bucket and spade for the very poor greens. Very slow play all day, very little grass on the tee and people walking there dogs over the fairways!! Will not be going back.

The greens were like playing on a good lawn at home! They needed a cut as the grain influenced the run of the ball even on extreme green slopes. (Round played: Jul 2013 - Score: 90 Handicap: 22.6)

Myself and a few friends have just had a long weekend away and trying to keep costs down we booked through teeofftimes and got a good deal for this course as well as Brandhall and Hill top. If you are looking for the type of quality found at private members clubs then look elsewhere but if you want to play a course that has many different holes and challenges and is appealing on the eye then I would recommend this course. The 'Hills' certainly make this a good challenge. Sadly the greens were in poor condition on this day as they had just been dressed and the grass was long. It would be interesting to see how they play when they have been cut.

I have played this course on a number of occasions over the past few years but have not played this year. I follow the course on twitter and they have been talking the quality of the course up. I have to admit I didn’t really notice that much of a difference between previous years when played, The fairways are generally fine as are bunkers but I still find that the tee areas are quite untidy and some of the greens are in poor condition, that said some were in great condition. Overall course condition was OK, nothing more, nothing less. The course layout is very interesting and in my opinion a true test of golf, I suspect a handicap obtained here would travel well. Very tough par 4s on 2nd, 10th, 16th and 17th – par on these holes really is a good score. Some lovely downhill par 3s on 3rd and 18th. Its certainly a course worth playing and views are superb, but I would probably say wait till the afternoon or get a deal online, at £18 for a weekend morning I think there’s better value to be had elsewhere.
