What the club says: Launceston Golf Club is set in the beautiful surroundings of the Tamar Valley. This entertaining course is a challenging track where good course management is a must. You need to be accurate off the tee as the tree lined fairways make your approach shot to the well-guarded greens that bit more difficult.

Great course

Launceston golf club is a lovely challenging parkland course and well worth a visit. The tees, fairways and green were all in excellent condition. All the holes are different and whilst there are a few hills there is no need for a buggy if you are fit and able. The clubhouse is small but quaint and the staff and food was excellent and the professional was really helpful and friendly. We had a really good round.

Played on a Wednesday in August. A group of 8 golfers in 2 x 4balls. Course in excellent condition and very quiet. Weather warm with very little wind.

Lush course even in August!

Lovely lush parkland course showing no signs of summer scorching even though its August! Only downside to this is the greens were a little slow. Relatively flat with just a few rises and drops to contend with and no cross fairway slopes!
A couple of tight drives and few doglegs required caution off the tee but for me the toughest tee shot was the par 3 9th. Although only 160yards the trees on the left require a laser straight drive or a draw to find the green and my natural fade was brutally punished with a lost ball.
But its a course I would recommend so long as you avoid the seniors competition days or you may be in for a long round.

A very nicely maintained course in great condition. Greens were very even and fairways in really good nick. Most of the rough was cut back with just strategic long rough here and there. No pretentious attitudes here. Realistic prices, very friendly and well worth a visit!

A lovely friendly club and a good test for any level of golfer. The course was in a lovely condition and well dressed with bins and ball cleaners on most if not all Tees. The greens were heavily sanded but that has to happen. A nice clubhouse and shop completes a good setup.
