This is really not worth a visit. I went a couple of times last year and the course is not in good condition. Greens bare and bumpy, flags broken and many tee areas without even a marker.
If you have nowhere else to go then it is perhaps slightly better than the range, but I don't think it's anywhere you would want to play time and again.
Problem is that locals can easilly access the couse out of sight from the starters hut and probably the staff don't much care. The Council probably decided any money spent would be wasted due to vandalism.
Shame as I'm sure a lot of kids do use it in the summer and it could be a reasonable facility, but council would need to spend a lot of cash on it, and build a big fence.

A public course, not bad for £6 but you have to come early to avoid wandering locals from the surrounding area.
Oh, I was putting while the greenkeeper was mowing the green around me, interesting maintenance timing...! On the bright side, this definitely improved my golf with such a noisy distraction beside me...

My reveiw of the course is not very good the reason for that is if there is a lot of rain the course does not dry out for ages and becomes very marshy In saying that when the weather is fair it is a wonderful little 9 hole golf course and is pretty well looked after by the groundsmen and can olso be a very tricky course.

fairways in really bad ways, tee boxes well worn out but i guess its a pay n play council course, so its good value for money at only £6.20 per 9 holes.

A municipal course which can be spoiled by local louts and is a bit hacked up, but for £6.20 (current for 2009) represents great value for money!
