What the club says: A challenging parkland course that contains a lot of variety. The undulating terrain provides some gentle slopes to climb but you are rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the Dee Estuary and the surrounding countryside. A high quality course, the long 8th and the short 9th stand out in particular.

Very tricky and hilly

A tricky, tight and very hilly find. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Greens needed a little work as did the fairways but didn't stop the enjoyment. A few blind shots adds to the overall trickiness of the day. Need to play well and accurate to score high here.

Mr harman

Played the course July 2019 as part of a family weekend golf tour. Greens fantastic, course layout fantastic, in fact everything about the course, the members we met and friendliness just blew us all away. A great challenge and absolutely immaculate. Roll on 2020 so we can play it again.

Had a great day here with a good challenge of golf playing off 9. Not the longest but not short by any means. Turned up to play on my own and ended up playing with the captain and another gentleman from the club. Both were extremely friendly and welcoming even when I tried to hook my second into the clubhouse on the last! Course was in great condition and would definitely recommend giving this course a go first in the area. Undulating ground will test your long and short game!!

Great views of the estuary are an added bonus as is the chance for a lemur (yes!!) sighting!

Very tricky and hilly

A very tricky and hilly course. Parkland in excellent condition. Tight and blind shot holes on majority of course. Still very enjoyable. Clubhouse and staff very welcoming. Quirky and very different with a few cross over type drives and greens, with some shared fairways.

Kirkcudbright golf Club is the best true park land course in the South of Scotland. A good challenge to all handicaps and great looking course. Very friendly staff and good greens.

Played this course in September 2014 directly after going round Brighouse bay. I had been warned that the course was hilly, which it is, but this adds to the attraction. The holes are varied and use the natural undulations to provide an interesting round in an attractive setting. Some of the holes are among the most beautiful I have played anywhere. This is a pure parkland course with no links character at all. Maintenance levels were high. All in all, a real gem of a course providing a varied and enjoyable round of golf. Having played several others in the area (Colvend, BrighouE Bay and Powfoot, this was my clear favourite.
