What the club says: Montgomery Course (Kinross Golf Course)
Formally known as the Blue Course, this 6,438 yard, par 71 track is generally accepted as the more demanding of the two courses and has some challenging holes; not least the 450 yard par 4 18th - a quality finishing hole.

The Bruce Course is considered to be the second course at Kinross Golf Club yet it is highly regarded and seen as a good test of golf. At 6,256 yards it is not overly long but contains stunning views of the nearby Loch Leven and has no less than four par 5s within six holes.

Course was in good condition considering the amount of rain that fell through the night.
Well set out (Round played: Oct 2014 - Score: 95 Handicap: 15.1)

Played the Montgomery course on 3rd August. Course layout is class as was the condition. many greens have wild slopes on them especially the par 3s. I would give the course 10/10 for everything except the bunkers. Horrible thick brown sand with loads of stones in them. Other than that, the course is perfect. A lot of doglegs so have to plot your way round but very enjoyable round. Will def be back to play again and to try other course out aswell.

Nice rolling fairways inbetween trees and fast greens...tricky par 4 that is surrounded by water...lay up :) (Round played: Jun 2014 - Score: 100 Handicap: 17.6)

Considering the amount of rain that this course has seen over the past few days, it was playing very well. I have seen a great improvement in the greens and fairways since i last played here. New green keeper is doing a great job (Round played: Jun 2014 - Score: 100 Handicap: 23.6)

The Montgomery at Kinross is the more interesting of the two courses (the other being The Bruce), with a variety of dog-leg holes to test your draw and fade and some well placed bunkering to make you think before you hit. There are a few tricky split level greens to negotiate. Fairways are generous but if you enter the trees your score will suffer. Friendly pro and a good set-up for visitors. Excellent value on a day ticket with The Bruce - combined price of £24 in July. (Round played: Jul 2013 - Score: 87 Handicap: 17.2)

The Bruce is a straightforward, flat course not far from Loch Leven, well laid out and in good condition (better than the rather scruffy looking car park would have you believe!) Greens were a bit on the slow side early on, for the time of year. Stay out of the trees and the hay and you should score well. Friendly pro and setup well used to accepting visitors. The other course, The Montgomery, is slightly longer and more testing but play both on an excellent value, half-price July day ticket for £24. (Round played: Jul 2013 - Score: 88 Handicap: 17.2)

Lovely course to play with plenty of water feature holes. Felt the greens could have been better at this time of year and were surprise they had been spiked. Professional was helpful and the buggies come with an electronic hole by hole course map and distances to pin from different points on the hole. Not that impressed with the clubhoused fayre - meals stop at 3pm during the week.

Nice course but expected more after hearing rare reviews from friends who has played it before. I guess the moral of this story is keep an open mind about courses you are about to play and make your own mind up.
