With scenic views of the Staffordshire Moorlands in the distance, Keele Golf Centre provides a classic test of golf. This undulating course, carved through the mature trees which once formed part of the old Keele Hall Park measures some 6396 yards, par 72 from the back tees. The greens are now considered as some of the best in the county. The adjacent 30 bay driving range provides the ideal practice facility to hone your swing before your round.

Greens very wet at the moment, bunkers have very little sand and no rakes. Tee's are looking rough also.

Not bad overall course layout but when I played I was getting about ten yards of roll on the fairways as the grass was so long. The greens were a little bobbly but the biggest let-down was he quality of little things like the flag sticks; cheap plastic items that are about 5ft high - I know it sounds snobby, but it just felt as cheap as it was.
I play plenty of good municipals for the same price but this one left me seriously underwhelmed.Club Facilities and Services

The course was still wet from the winter rain and snow, we had to guess where the next tee was as there were know direction signs up. Also there were know SSI signs on the tees so we had to check our score cards to see if it was a par five or four. This was no hard deal but when you pay your money you expect the course to be ready for golfers.

Since this course has been taken over it has gone down hill rapidly. Greens WERE very smooth and quick and you could tell the fairways from the rough. Keele used to be a good test of golf however since the take over I would not recommend it to anyone.Stay away from this one for the cost.

I agree with Gary Cope - the greens (in particular) were really poor when I went on 3rd June. There were loads of clumps of grass spread across the greens, that made putting a nightmare. I shot a 93, which could quite as easily have been 83!!
It was wet weather mind, and the course held up reasonably well considering.
Playing a society day with work in less than 2 weeks from now, and I hope it improves by then!
The service in the pro shop, was far from professional either!

the fairways are long- no distiction between fairway and semi rough
the greens are terrible with big tufts of what looks like new grass making playing a decent put nearly impossible 9 of us have played it today 1st june ,and wont be going back again this year for 16 quid it was a joke

The course is very good for improving iron play as all the holes are par 3. At the moment I am having lessons using just the short irons and it helps me to improve on them using only short irons.
