What the club says: We are home to two 18 hole golf courses, making us Lanarkshires Premier Golfing Facility. Firstly our 18 hole, championship, Mouse Valley Golf Course which has a Par of 72. The course has recently been remeasured and sits a 5664 yards. Our other smaller course, the Kames Course consists of mainly Par 3's and 4's and is uniquely challenging. The course is also designed in such a way that it can be played as a 9 hole course as well. We have a 7 bay driving range open 7 days a week which is floodlit to allow you to keep playing until 9.30pm. Our pro Martin Goldie provides lessons for adults and juniors to any level of golfer. And don't worry if it starts to rain as you will just go inside to our state of the art indoor putting green.

This course has closed its doors apparently for ever. Being turned back to farmland. Go play Douglas Water Glof Club for a good value round in the same area.

A long course with thick rough which rewards accuracy off the tee.

Good challenge. Course not up to usual standard, but understand new greens staff start this week. Hopefully their first job will be to cut the tees and weed the bunkers.

Course was in good condition for this time of year, a little wet underfoot but greens were fine! Wide fairways which suited a high handicapper like myself and for £10 a round all in all great value

aviod the small course. it started well with some nice holes then unravels at the end with poor greens thet looked like coconut matting and a drainage system that wood put a medieval village to shame. no par fives and the 8,9,10,11,12 and 13th are all par 3s one after another.

Firstly, the name is a complete misnomer - try Monster Valley, especially if you play it off the back tees into the prevailing wind. On a glorious summer day without a breath of wind and off the yellow tees, it plays like a pussycat. First 6 holes are a bit of a slog, after that the water starts to come into play and it gets really interesting

I played this course one Sunny sunday morning in August, and for about £15, which is the good news.
Now for the bad.
I have never played a course is such poor, damp, boggy, un-maintained condition before.
Some really challenging holes, good variation, but most, if not all, in terrble condition.
I remember thinking one of the greens looked like a pack of horses had ran across it !!
The bar was basic but OK, but did not open until 12:30 ????, why ??, there were 3 staff chatting, and bar closed !.

I would play this course again, under 2 conditions.

1. It was free, &
2. Every other golf course within a 25 mile radius was closed.

Don't bother.

Played Kames Country (Mouse Valley) August 2012, on what I thought was quiet a good deal, less than £20 for a weekend morning. I was also suprised to see the course was not very busy, but there was a reason.
The course drainage was quiet poor.
Yes, you could argue we've had a wet summer, but parts of the course were like a bog, bad water hazards in bunkers, and fairways looked liked they'd not been cut for months, in fact the grass was almost as long as the rough.
Real shame too, because there are good facilities here, the greens had lovely undulations, to make you think about your puts, it just lacked investment, care, and rountine maintenance. Could be a real gem, but at present its just a let down.
