Play here quite often lovly views friendly staff but course upkeep lets it down some bunkers are like concrete and why not pick up grass cuttings instead of leaving them all over fairways !

I visited the course for the first time this week and was very impressed as this is clearly a hidden gem and easily accessible from either the A30 or A38.
A very pretty drive in and very welcoming staff made a nice start to the day.
The course is nicely routed and unlike many of the 'farmland' courses in Devon as the quality of the fairways and greens are very good and the bunkers exude character. As the course is only on 63 acres, a couple of holes are a little snug but I would not hesitate to play this course regularly and would agree with other reviewers that the views and condition make for an enjoyable days golf.
All in all, a great course for a day out, mixed golf or society visit too, more picturesque than the other moorland courses in the area and very nice greens.
I would be equally happy playing when the rhododendron's are in full flower or as a dry Winter course.
P.S.Still laughing at the guy who reviewed and expected tour level greens in February?!!!

This is a course "on the up". Played a few times over the last year and it is getting better and better. It makes you think about each shot with Devon banks, water hazards and strategically placed trees and bunkers providing the right level of challenge. It drains really well so play possible 364 days a year. The 19th is a feature of a days golf with high quality food made to order, which can be enjoyed with a really good glass of beer. The staff are friendly and the girls are gorgeous; these, together with the highly committed green keepers ensure that you have a really positive experience. Will be sure to return.

I am really impressed with the development of this course. A lot of work has gone into improving the tee boxes on several of the holes. I will look forward to playing off them particularly in the winter when many other courses will have rubber mats or temporary tees.

Quite suprised by some of the reviews, but as in the area thought I would give the course a try. Overall me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the course, it had it's challenges and well worth the money, would visit again. Greens not as fast as other courses around but still good. Friendly clubhouse.

I was pleasantly surprised how challenging this course was. It may be relatively short but there are a number of unexpected hazards (Devon walls, trees, water) . The greens were recently tined so they were quite bumpy. However, I expect they will improve wit a bit of rain!! Food was limited in the clubhouse, but the staff were extremely helpful and, after all, I only wanted an sandwich! Al in all, a pleasant golfing experience at a very reasonable price and very friendly staff.

Have played here a number of times recently always open. Played here first some three years ago and cannot believe the improvements to the course. Under new management and they have made a great difference. The course itself is well laid out, challenging, makes you think about your shots! Great value for money. A friendly clubhouse at the end of a good round of golf.

I found this course a very friendly and enjoyable place to play golf. I was particularly impressed with how well the course had coped with the adverse weather conditions, the grounds keepers have done a great job. It offers golfers of all abilities a challenge and is good value for money.

Have played there several times, but not a favourite. The views, and fairways are great, but the greens need a lot of work. The people were friendly, but the club house is a waste of space. No food at all, or any draugh beer. So if your idea is to play around in the morning, have a good lunch and play again in the pm, the best you can do is a bottle of old warm beer, and possibly a sandwich, nothing warm ( except the bottled beer). Great for a quick cheap round, but if you want to make a nice day of it, with good beer and food, there are far better places within a few miles. Such a shame that what could be a fantastic place is let down so badly by the fundamental necessities of a good days golf.

We recently played there and the greens were actually black and severely pitted, and after a short rain shower did not drain at all. Not even possible to have a nice pint in the club house at the end as unbelievably there is no beer on tap. Must be the only dry club house in the country.
Nice fairways, and gorgeous surroundings, but the greens need work, and the clubhouse needs some bar taps and optics to make this a good day out for visiting golfers. We wont be recommending this to our respective societies as a good days golf.
