Great course in good condition. Many interesting holes but a little bit jumbled up making it difficult to navigate for the first timer. Shame about the attitude of the locals who definitely made us feel not welcome...

Bring your hiking boots

A lovely little course with a good variety of holes. But be prepared for long walks between each hole. If you find yourself on a tee box seconds after finishing the previous hole, look again. You will almost certainly be on the wrong tee box.

Great Reception

To look for faults at any golf club is simply petty, Huntswood has an intriguing course, it may only be a Par 69 but the challenge to stay straight and think about your shots makes it definitely a challenge. It is without doubt a club course, members have the advantage over the visitor, they know the quirks, the doglegs, bunkers and gullies. For the visitor however, the over riding and lasting impression will be of the welcome, the Pro Shop, the Bar, the members, all do an outstanding job of making feel like a person they would like to be a member. Play Huntswood if you can, make your own decision about the course, unfortunately I did find a few of the wrong ball positions, but I enjoyed it.

Rude members

I and my friend played here on Friday. There was a female members match so the final fourball were teeing off before us. No problem for us but two of the ladies told us that as we were not members, we were unable to play through. We had not said a word to them and I found this very rude indeed.
The game was very slow as they were not the greatest but were all like that. When we reached the tenth tee, three of the ladies had gone for coffee so our group and two groups behind, had to wait for them to return. Absolute joke.
As captain of our golf society, I was happy to choose Huntswood for our next outing. 20 players, breakfast golf and lunch followed by a few beers. This club could have earned several hundred pounds, midweek in autumn but because of the rudeness of their lady members, that will never happen. All clubs need non members to subsidise their turnover and should not forget this.
Their members should also realise this.

A relatively short corse with lots of opportunities to ruin your card if your not accurate off the tee. Special rates on Thursdays which makes it not only a pleasure but an absolute bargain.

good course, well maintained. good for beginners, I like longer golf courses, you can play this course with your 4 iron and putter, it is sometimes a bit frustrating.
also, lots of "off limits" which make the game a bit "restricted".
If you want to let it all out on the T box, don't play there ;-)

Very tight course in places, good to check the out of bounds areas before play. Greens in very good condition and very consistent. Good club house, friendly atmosphere.

Played here 7/4/2015, course was in very poor condition, tee boxes were just mud, fairways had very long sparse grass so invariably your ball was sat on mud and the green were dreadful, dozens of pitch marks on most and very bare. Even though we only paid £11 it was not worth it. The only plus was the friendly welcome in the shop and the bar and the food.

I believe this was a 3* course as it lacked a few key qualities. The tee's weren't in great shape and some holes were fairly straight and short. However, the greens are treated well and the fairways were ok. The back 9 was definitely better as the hills came into play, making a few great holes. But, the competition around this area and down towards surrey, were there are many great courses for low prices, means that I just couldn't bring myself to giving a 4*.

Course always in excellent condition, not designed for big hitters but still enjoyable. Need to keep your ball out of trouble as quite a few trees to lose any wayward shots.Club house one of the best in the area. Well worth £10 Thursday.

A few holes in the front 9 are fairly boring and straight forward. A few interesting elevated and sloping holes at back 9, especially hole 18. Good direction signs. Greens are generally good. Excellent value at £12.50 pp using discount vouchers.
Beware of getting lost using SATNAV instructions!
