Leen Valley (Hucknall) Golf Centre
The 6102 yard, Par 71 Course has been carefully remodelled to provide a parkland feel. With mounding lining the majority of fairways, it is important that you hit your drive on them in order to make your approach to the greens easier. Once on the greens they rank as some of the best in the County. Water has to be negotiated on a number of holes and avoid the resident swans at all costs.

Location
Location: Leave the M1 at junction 26, turn right at the roundabout towards Nottingham (A610). You will approach a major roundabout, get in the left hand lane and take the second exit signposted A611 towards Hucknall. Keep going until you come to a T-junction, turn left and straight over the next two roundabouts, still following signs for Hucknall. At the third roundabout turn right (signposted railway station) and then left at the next mini roundabout. At the top of this road turn right and go over the bridge and then right into Wigwam lane, the golf club is on the left hand side.

A much improved course and new owners have done well to turn this ex Jack Barker course around. 100, 150 and 200 yardage markers are now on fairways, next tees are clearly marked and each tee box has new signage. Greens used to be mossy and bobbly but they are improving a md should be good this time next year. Also bunkers have been terrible but these are being tackled one by one. Excellent value for money and a good course for high handicappers with a few challenging holes for the better player. Excellent facilities with the clubhouse and driving range and staff/members very friendly. Overall this course is getting a lot better and will be in fine condition over the next year or so.

The course never makes itself out to be Hollinwell, and it does provide good value golf, especially if you get the twilight rate of £8.
It can get a bit boggy in winter, and the greens are not the best. But then again the fairways are decent and there's some decent holes in there to keep you interested.The Course

nice club house. not too busy so no waiting. open course but soon get water logged when it rains

Brand New Tee House Restraunt with extensions for wedding facilities and functions. Does a fantastic sunday dinner booking essential as it gets packed out. Course much better with new staff and new owners.

Having played this course now three times over the past year I would like to note that it is much improved under the new ownership. It is now marked up throughout, though a course map on the card would be helpful for new players. Greens used to be mossy and bobbly but the grass is improving, though the surface can still be a little bobbly. I feel it is a course that will get better and better especially with local support. Bunkers are still a weakness as is the lack of fairway/semi-rough divide. However it does provide a very forgiving first 11 holes which will suit high handicappers. The last 7 provide a challenge for the better player. Facilities in the clubhouse are all that you would expect with good reasonably-priced food.

you have to give this course a go all of these reviews are out of date a lot of work has gone on inthe past year and it improved tenfold well done to the ground staff

Another one of nottinghams hilly courses built on an old pit heap, but it is really a very nice course to play, with good fairways and equally good greens,it`s a municiple course so can get busy, but a good test to golfers of any handicap.

Course is still early development, alot of the greens are long and slow, greens need cutting, alot of wind when we played.
Needs more signs to direct you to every hole as we got lost a few times.The Course

Clubhouse very nice and friendly, good food, but closes too early around 4.00pm on a Saturday!!! Had to find somewhere else for a drink after our game. Pro very friendly.
Fairways wet and boggy and thats without rain for a week. Greens awful, wooly and full of moss. Many blind holes, large bunds on side of all fairways making it uninteresting, not much to challenge a low handicapper. One to miss, typical Jack Barker run business. The price was fair though for seniors, £11.00.

A bit bland, greens very wolly some fairway very wet, for the money we paid £11.59 it was good, and it is winter. would go back in the summer to see if it improves.

It's a good size course but is fairly rough even on the fairways. Lots of holes are not visible from the tee meaning that to get a really good round in you'd have to play this course more than once. Hills play a large part in the challenge of this course and you quite often are playing with the ball below or above your feet.
Personally I didn't enjoy this course and I feel that there are much better courses up in sheffield maybe half an hour away for much less money.

The Tee's arent clearly marked wich, as the next tee isnt next to the previous pin, makes it rather difficult to navigate the course. The Fairways were very boggy and unable to tell difference between them and the light rough. The heavy rough was exactly that (if you lost a ball in there the Tigers would probably eat you before you found your ball). The bunkers were tidy apart from the buggy wheel marks through them. The Greens were in imaculate condition. The main problem is other users (we were followed by a 2ball who i dont think had ever been taught manners let alone course etiquette). i wouldnt pay full price to play this course again
