greens bumpy, fairways ok if you don't land on a mud patch, in general this course seems to have gone downhill fast over the last couple of years, seems to me lack of interest from green staff and owners, in general its now a weeding venue with a golf course. sad really as it was top notch, not in my top 15 in derbyshire better courses to be found and played!!

Disappointing
Had read good reviews however the greens were in terrible condition. Last of bare patches, was like putting on a ploughed field. Would not drive past such as Morley Hayes or Breadsall Priory to play here again, until the greens are sorted. The layout is great, pace of play, practice facilities, etc all great, but terrible greens at the moment. And quite a bit of construction ongoing around the course.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 94 Handicap: 15.9)

Course in very poor and dry condition, i appreciate they dry weather but other courses are still in much better condition.

Course fantastic, had an excellent day. Problem afterwards when golf clubs were stolen from my car, which has privacy glass, so I am pretty sure I was targeted. Ensure your vehicle is parked under cctv cams if you are staying over as they don't cover the whole car park. Attitude of staff ranged from very sympathetic in the club shop to wasn't at all bothered at all in the hotel when I reported it.
As I say the course is in fantastic condition, just be careful if you are planning to stay over and leave your clubs in your vehicle!!!

Having been a member for a number of years I have decided not to rejoin,feel the club has gone downhill in general, greens, fairways,alterations to course,far to many societies,to many pay and players,when you think well over £1000 for a years golf,yet you can pick a round up for £15/£20 on the net!! Still a fair course to play if you've never been. But beware the weddings that they host they seem more important than the golfers. Try it make your own mind up!

Played here many years back and was not impressed at all with golf course! Coming back recently new greens have been put in and it was much improved. Unfortunately still has the private club feel about and as a green fee I felt out of place! Good deals to picked up online if you don't mind playing late on in the day!

enjoyable round
some areas of the fairways had moss clearly apparent, particularly in the wetter areas on the back nine. Some green fringes were bare. Some good work done with paths and infrastructure.Reviewer Rating

winter golf
Enjoyable round.Greens a little bit bobbly as they have been left longer than usual due to recent inclement weather. Usually excellent but recent work has had its effect.Some fairways wet and soggy but no surprise given recent bad weather.Few inland courses still using summer greens.Worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
