The course is kept in wonderful condition with exceptional undulating greens. Took a work colleague there last week who plays off 8. He commented that the course was the best he has played this year and that at most courses he plays the greens are flat and easy, at Horsley lodge the real work starts when on the greens!!

Slight little touches missing, such as Tee Boxes with information, but overall a really nice course, greens are some of the best in Derbyshire, if not the best.

given the time of year course was in great condition - had to play from mats on fairway which was strange but greens were still awesome..

Lovely golf course with some of the best greens i have played this summer. very quick. good value in the week but gose up at the weekend to become expensive. Hills come into play a bit with a few blind shots to play so a course guide is worth buying. not so great in the hotel there, poor service let them down as it really looks the part, good view of the par 3 ninth from the bar.

My only complaint about this course is that it's 100 miles away as I would love to play there time and time again. A course that is fantastic to the eye with the water features being sculptured into something special. Didn't have a great game but have nothing but praise for the course.

beutiful course even though the weather was terrible, still in great condition for the time of year and a step up on others around it good value with an early bird t time,good clubhouse and nice food.

Excellent course overall, have played here several times, amazing days golf on a beautiful hot day, water, length and challenging will play here again more regularly

Just to confirm my previous review, superb course this time of year. Fastest greens I've ever played, undulating but as true as they come. Never seen so many putts overshoot. Only criticism I would make is that some of the bunkers are a bit tatty and, er, agricultural rather than sandy. Should have stayed out of them really.

Played on the 6th Sep 2007 on a very humid and hot sunny day.
The course was in fantastic condition, lush fairways and very well kept greens which were extremely true. The greens are superb and some of the best in the East Mids.
To say the course is only 20 years old it's very mature with a lot of tree lined fairways making this a good challenge for all golfers.
This would make a great venue for a competition or society day.

Played here with a member recently after a long period of wet weather, muddy but not too waterlogged, still had to play off tees from the fairways which was odd.
The course itself is very picturesque, hilly and in very good condition. The greens were fast considering the recent weather, very undulating and will be a real challenge when dry. Generally well laid out with a lot of tempting second shots to downhill greens. The 15th (Bills Revenge) very tricky and appears to have been built deliberately to foil my game. The 4th, 7th and 11th (and the 18th when they use the competition green) are dangerous temptresses. 7th made slightly more awkward because of the horse on the green.
A bit pricey, but a very good course which I will definately revisit in the summer.
