Hill Barn Golf Club
Designed by the legendary Fred Hawtree, Hill Barn Golf Club has a long and enviable history. Since 1935, the course’s rolling fairways have hosted many professional tournaments; been graced by names such as Peter Alliss and Tony Jacklin; and have provided the perfect challenge to all golfers from juniors to scratch players.
Hill Barn Golf Club nestles in the rolling hills of the Southdowns providing sweeping views of the town of Worthing and of the English Channel to the south. A number of holes have elevated tees providing the golfer with an excellent opportunity to stop and admire the panorama before playing to the fairway below. Hill Barn is certainly one of the most beautiful places to play golf in Sussex.
The 6,229 yard course provides challenges and surprises for players of all levels as it undulates through a good balance of par 3s and par 4s of which no two are alike. The signature hole on the 11th has a cunningly placed array of bunkers set into the hillside but an accurate tee shot is rewarded by an excellent chance at a birdie. Bordered by mature trees and hedgerows, the course culminates in a par 5 worthy of this championship course.

This fine downlands course is improving all the time, the greens are superb, and fairways well-cared for. There are even expectations that winter tees may not be necessary. The staff are excellent and the new teaching professional, David Fluke is very good

Nicely varied downland course with mature tree lining many holes. Fairways are generous and the rough on most holes is not impossible to rescue from. Bunkers can be a little stony and in some the sand is more like packed dust. The greens are excellent. No water features. A good mixture of challenging and rewarding holes. Practice nets and putting green for warming. There is a practice area (par 3 length), but no driving range. Pro-shop is well stocked.

cracking course with some gems and some score wreckers if you hit a wayward shot nice atmosphere all around the course cant wait to go back

We played this course after we had had alot of hot weather so the fairways were very dry, however the tees and greens were in very good condition.
