Hellidon Lakes Golf & Country Club
An interesting and varied layout constructed over the gently rolling valleys of Northamptonshire - all three nines having some superb holes. There is also a total of 17 lakes which are strategically placed to encourage golfers to think their way round the course. The putting surfaces benefit from a state-of-the-art irrigation system that gives great year-round consistency - essential for reading the challenging greens. The 'Red' course is the longest at 3,332 yards, with the 'Blue' measuring 3,277 and the 'Green' coming in at 2,791.

Played here Sunday having played here many times before, once again I was not disappointed. The course is in very good condition for the time of year and the greens were all in play and were excellent ( still running quick ). I always enjoy my round at Hellidon and it is easily one of my favourite course to visit. Great Value for money.

Played yesterday on a great winters morning. Course playing very well still very dry in places (have played several times before) and greens as tricky as ever. Superb value and pro shop team very helpful - rates low all winter apparently. Wil be back!

Played here Sunday just gone on an amazing Winters morning. Course was in excellent condition and very challenging. The greens are very tricky adding to the courses defence with lots of borrows and breaks, and ran true and quite quick for the time of year. There are no two holes alike on this course adding a uniqueness and quality, which is hard to find, and the views are breathtaking. This is a golf course I would not hesitate to play many times, and I'm looking forward to my next outing there.

A good course, it is short, but, offers plenty of challenges in controlling position off the tea. When we played the greens were in good order and seriously quick. Facilities are excellent and the hotel staff were particularly welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course and think it particularly suites the more accurate golfer.

After looking at the course from my hotel room it looked very inviting and in good condition. I wasn't disappointed, although it was rather short. You couldnt just take out the driver off the tee, position was essential for many of the dog-legs. The greens were in good condition , very quick but true. The hotel itself is good for a lads golf break or a group of golfers/non golfers who can use the spa facilities too..... forgot to mention, only £10 for 18 holes at 4pm

Only played once and 9 holes of 27 shut which was a shame. Under redevelopment so i'm sure it will be a better track for it. Nice course, good parkland feel. Greens when we visited were not the best (especially in august) and one hole was sodden after the previous nights rain. Would return next year for another go

Played all 27holes in one day on 7th sept 2010.
Found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful, specially when booking on phone.
Bit of a weird set up regards the pro-shop... Its situated at the back and underneath the main hotel! Which makes finding it for 1st time guests a bit hard.
Red & Blue courses are there main and they class them as the 18, the green course is ok but not as good as its brothers in our opinion.
All 3 Courses very intersting, no holes the same so it keeps you on your toes.
Greens were in poor condition tho, suffered from drainage issues, bare patches and some infection (even had a few with GUR's actually written on them!) pity tho cause if they had them sorted this would be a little gem of a course!
Warning and word to the wise... Its very hilly - get a buggy!

Used atwo fore one voucher which made it good value for money although you may wish to take out a loan if you want a cup of coffee. Played two rounds in the day and had to hire a buggy for second game as the abundant ups and downs which make the course are hard work. A very nice course which I will certainly play again.

This course is a bit out in the wilds, but don't be put off. It's a great course to play and is strong enough to handle even the lower handicappers.
A parkland course with doglegs, strategic bunkering and great greens (even on a wet & misty february day most greens were quick)
Good use of water and you need to trust your yardages, some holes look longer/shorter, and trust me they do catch you out.
Hotel is attached and the rooms are brilliant.
look at golfbreaks for some deals.
Recommended.

My first competition so don't remember much about this course, although the previous weeks of rain didn't do it any favours. Bunkers were almost all flooded (I spent a lot of time in them!). First has a massive oak tree in the middle of the fairway which I managed to hit as well as virtually every other hazard on the course.
Worth revisiting in better weather so I've heard.
