What the club says: Golf has been played over the links at Gullane for more than 350 years. Today, Gullane Golf Club is one of Scotland's most prestigious member clubs, mixing the finest tradition with some of the most admired natural links land in the world.
Gullane is blessed with superb turf and a climate that allows all year round golf. Visitors are welcome to play our championship courses which offer dramatic coastal views and a golfing challenge to savour. Laid out over prime seaside land, the three golf courses are simply known by number reflecting their age.
Gullane No. 1 (1884) has a long history of hosting national and international championship golf events, most recently the Local Final Qualifying for the 2013 Open Championship at neighbouring Muirfield.
Gullane No. 2 (1898) was laid out by the legendary Willie Park Jr and has also been used for Open Championship Qualifying as well as the Seniors Open Amateur.
Gullane No. 3 (1910) was also designed by Willie Park Jr. It may be the shortest of the three courses, but it provides a wonderful test based on shot-making skills rather than power.
Gullane offers a unique range of golfing experiences for members and visitors alike, combining a major role in the history of golf in Scotland, great golfing conditions, and a truly spectacular environment. Today, Gullane Golf Club is one of Scotland's most prestigious member clubs mixing the finest tradition with some of the most admired natural links land in the world.
Played on a windy but sunny day the views of Edinburgh and Fife were stunning; no wonder the Scottish Open is to return next year. No.2 is a challenging course almost the equal of Gullane No.1. As always in excellent condition throughout with fast true greens. A real pleasure to play. Good visitors centre servicing No."s 2&3
Well worth the fee for a beautiful, well cared for course. Just as challenging as the No 1

What a course, beautifully care for, amazing views. Expensive if you're not playing with a member but every golfer should play this course. Just the best!

I have played the No1 course previously, and was wondering if No2 wouldn't have been as amazing but was just as incredible. Immaculate condition with stunning views. Very tough going with a good mixture of holes. All of my group had a great time.
Gullane 2 is always in brilliant condition - the greens were superb - fast but true. Excellent clubhouse facilities and buggies were great too.

We had a great day and stunning views across the Forth, however compared to Dunbar (just round the coast) the course felt very worn and in need of some rest. The club house was great and we were given a warm welcome. The low overall rating is driven by the green keeps. On 3 holes they were doing significant maintenance (fine with that), however they wouldn't interact (e.g. say play or not) so I had to play a shot over their heads on 17 (they were watching me as I played, however its hard to hit a ball straight over somebody's head) and on the last they stood about 5 yards from the flag (I therefore under hit the ball) and I ended up in the bunker which collectively destroyed my otherwise promising score.
So my lasting impression was that the course was very over hyped and the high numbers of visitors was leading to a lot of wear and tear and although we had a good time (up until the 16th), Dunbar was significantly better.

Unable to get a tee time on 2, so opted for 3 which although short you cannot stray into the rough. Course was empty so maybe time to reduce the green fee £41.
