Golf course review of Great Hadham Golf Club

I have rated the course Good, there is still lots of work going on, now round the back 9.

When I wrote a review June 2010 the work was being done on the front. Which is now really impressive - Added lots of character to the course.
Yes there are lots of GUR on the back but seriously stick with it as when its finished of the front 9 is anything to go by then it well be one of the best courses in the area.

The new driving range is now open and exactly what you need and although I haven't played it, the new par 3 course is now open.

A lot of folk will moan about the back 9 at the moment and its not pretty, but it will be worth it in the end.

Played this course today and as stated before the front 9 had a lot of work being done around them, however the back 9 was a lot better. The course itself I thought was quite good although a bit wet, but that can't be helped after the rain from the night before. All in all a pretty good course which will be a lot better in a couple of years once the construction work is finished and the area grown.

Course is currently in a bad way.....lots of work going on....especially around the first few holes.

No driving range currently.

I know however that these changes being made can only improve what will be a good course. Also the 9 hole course will be a good addition.

There is work going on but it will be a nice course when finished, front 9 is now a nice challenge, good facilities, very friendly, good value for money £10/round. Will be nice when it's finished. Nice course, good challenge, most of the reviews on here are now outdated.

Absolutely shocking course in shocking condition, rocks and stones everywhere including on the fairway from the construction.

Damaged my sand wedge from the edge of the fairway on buried stones and lost an entire cleat from my new shoes because of the rocks from green to tees.

Plus they still wanted £30 for a course that was a building site.

Shocking course, shocking price, stay away and spend your money elsewhere

Course is like a building site! My mate had some shoes trashed as the whole cleat enclosure got ripped out on the pathways. Finding the Tees was by luck more than judgement, no signs or directions, and no markers on any of the Tees stating Hole Description. Fairways dry as a bone and devoid of almost any grass, like playing off a parched mud flat at times. Greens dreadful and looks like the course is hardly maintained at all!!
Nightmare to find with no decent signposts! Nice bar and clubhouse though! All in all for the £25 I paid, feeling pretty hard done by!

Not Great. First 5 holes are like a building site due to the construction of new driving range facilities, yet nothing off the cost of a round and no mention in advance of the work.
Greens weren't in great condition, certainly given the cost.
Overall a dissapointing experience which is a shame as I'm sure this can be a nice course.

Nice Course, Played in Dec & although played off mats these were large and simulated grass. Greens were in very good condition and fast for time of year
