Gosforth Golf Club
Gosforth Golf Club is a course of immense character. One of the major features of the course providing a test on many of the holes, is the Ouse Burn, which winds its way down the 18th and through the 4th on its way to the Tyne.
A steady mix of tough par 4s, testing par 5s and gentle par 3s ensure the course is an enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities.
At 432 yards from the medal tee, the 18th hole (pictured left) is undoubtedly the clubs signature hole and has often been referred to as the toughest finishing hole in Northumberland. The line of trees down the left and the infamous Ouse Burn on the right guarantee a challenging finishing hole which has put paid to many a good score in the past. However, after successfully negotiating the tee shot, the golfer is faced with a long, tough approach to a rolling green that appears to be far smaller than it actually is. Par is a good score!

An enjoyable if not spectacular course. The yardage of the course is quite short and this makes it an enjoyable afternoons golf rather than a challenging one. The course is in good condition with some very good and fast greens. Facilities are traditional but good and the staff in the clubhouse were very friendly.
