Sloooooow….

Great venue. Positives were the fables and the fantastic condition of fairways and tee boxes. Greens however although in good conditions were very slow. Pace of play was bad 5:15 hours off a weekday midday tee is far too slow. We kept up with pace of play as a 4 ball in buggies but a marshal told us to let a two ball behind us through on the 7th (I think) and he would “get them through the 4 balls in front”. Well, he didn’t, we then sat behind the 2 ball for the remainder of the round, pointless. By the 17th, there was a group on the green, the 2 ball on the tee us and then two further groups all queuing to play the hole, sadly, took the gloss off an otherwise great day out.

I played the Park course yesterday at Goodwood. You can immediately see when you enter the grounds that they take great pride in the facilities and course. The weather has been terrible but trollies were still allowed on the course and the course was in great condition considering how wet it was. We played 18 holes after 12pm and it was £22. Great value for money for the quality of this course. The facilities are amazing with very well kept changing rooms and pro-shop. The course itself is a long course but has a great variety of par 3,4 and 5's and they are challenging but not impossible. Greens were in excellent condition consuidering the amount of rain this weekend and i am looking forward to trying The Downs Course next time.

I was lucky enough to play the Championship Downs course today.
As people have said it's tough, but very impressive.
I used a GPS wood buggy and I'm glad I did, it was a very hot day.
The pace of play was good, the holes were challenging.
The snack bar is passed twice on the round which is great.
The views at times are fantastic.
A lovely day out and experience as you would expect.

Lovely setting, quite hard course which is also very hilly. The clubhouse is nice but very expensive.

This is the best golf venue i have been to, to date. Last time i was here, 2 years back, i didn't think it could improve, but it has...
The staff thrive on excellent customer service, and both courses are immaculate...

They always have plenty of staff on, and even on busy weekends manage to prevent slow play by having a course marshall.

If you're in the South Coast, you simply have to play here, look at the photo's!!!

Golfshake Team ReviewPlayed the Parks course.
Fairways were perfect. The recent rain had helped the course massively.
Rough was a little long in places. But most courses are at the moment,

Really really high quality course.

Green were excellent, fast, true and no pitchmarks.
Bunkers had proper sand in which makes a nice change,

Facilities here a perfect. Choice of food, bars. Swimming pool is perfect.

Overall a perfect stay for Dinner, B

Lovely course, very well kept and a pleasure to play it.

Bloody hard to play in severe wind though as parts of it are quite exposed.

Very long wispy rough in places.

Played the Park Course which is very nice, not too tough on distance or bunkers, but the rough is brutal, for loose shots where you will lose your ball. Although still new at the game, many other who clearly have been playing a long time complaining about the rough. Course in great condition with enough signs to find your way round. Reasonable flat course for easy walking. The clubhouse is welcoming, comfortable and food good, although service was friendly, it was slow.

A must play if you can get on - stunning vies of the downs and a real challenge. Greens are undulating and provide a real putting test. Make sure you walk to the back tee on 6 to see all of Chichester and the Isle Of Wight on a clear day.

Played this course for the first and it was in fantastic condition, the por shop staff was very helpfull with some hint and tips for playing this course. Greens are quite slow but in superb condition which is great for me as my putting tends to be a little hard hitting. Great views of Goodwood House and surounding parkland.
