Girvan Golf Club
Golf Course Road, Girvan, Ayrshire, KA26 9HW United Kingdom
The exposed first eight holes are pure Scottish links, immediately adjacent to the beach, and the second ten holes are parkland providing a variable challenge. This latter part has the added interest of the river, from which the town takes its name, winding through the fairways to its final destination in the Firth of Clyde. Care should be taken on the ninth tee, as this hole is named after the gentleman who stepped back to admire a good drive only to take an unscheduled dip in the Girvan.
Strong features of this course are the fairly long par threes, all usually exacerbated by the prevailing SW wind. There are four par threes on the front nine and four on the back, if you dont score well on these your score is wrecked. If you score well on Girvan you have played very well indeed!Book a Tee Time

the girvan golf course has been kept in remarkable condition by the staff during the last winter we were able to play nearly all the time ifthere was more facilities at the course instead of just a starters hut it would be fantastic

Little jem of a course, greens were immaculate front eight were easier due to the relative calm and course quite short in general. still a few long par threes and blind approach shots is enough to keep you honest and the price is unbeatable

Beautiful views out towards Ailsa Craig on the front 8 holes which is truely a great test of links golf when the wind is up. The rest of the course is laid alongside a river that meanders through a pleasant parkland layout.

Delightful course part laid out adjacent to the sea which provides scenic views and often strong wind. The contrasting parkland/riverside second half is a contrast calling for an asjustment in play.
Short but enjoyable and attractive.

Short course is excellent for practising a variety of approach shots to tight greens, a number of which are elevated, a couple blind. Could be quite difficult in strong wind as it is on the coast, though it was calm the day I played. Nice contrast between front eight links holes by the water and the back 10 in parkland. Greens well maintained and puttable, speed varied as some more sheltered.
