played today on the winter deal, course played great for november you need to hit the fairways to give yourself a chance with your second shot, greens were fast and tricky and the bunkers were a pleasure to play out of i would love to play this course in the summer

Played on a "winter warmer" deal, which was great value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were brilliant. Course was in excellent condition. It was quite challenging with water hazards on almost every hole and lots of very deep bunkers - which I managed to avoid. You need to think about every shot and keeping the ball straight is vital. Well worth a visit - just remember to take plenty of balls with you.

I got married here in 2008, in the hotel that is not on the course! The facilities (range, practice areas, par 3 course, shop, hotel) are second to none since its redevelopment. The course is very difficult for mid-handicappers like me. Lots of water and horribly placed bunkers to contend with and a constant cross wind from Southport. One down side is that it can be a bit slow to get around. We were stuck behind 4 Swiss teenagers who were going round with a PGA coach and were hitting two balls at times, aswell as thinking they were Tiger Woods. It is also very, very expensive - there is a reason lots of Premier League football players and ex-players are members, they can afford it.

A great parkland layout with very nice views from the course including wonderful greens and well placed bunkers as well as a few lakes protecting a number of holes. The whole resort was great from the condition of the course, the rooms we stayed in and the hearty breakfast the next morning to the refreshing leisure facilities including sauna and swimming pool.

In spite of the very wet conditions course & greens were as good as could be expected. A real test of golf! The facilities for an overnight stay were superb, very friendly staff, great value for money. Love to see it in summer!

PGA academy - tough course in very good order. The greens are terrifying - they are so fast and undulating. Thoroughly enjoyed the game even if my score was disappointing. Expensive course understandably - although I was treated!!
