The stunning championship layout at Forest Pines was opened in 1996 and has rapidly become one of the must play courses in the UK. The fairways twist and turn their way through majestic pines and then into open heathland and despite its tender years, Forest Pines is reminiscent of a more established championship course. Split into three 9 hole loops, the Pines, the Beeches and the Forest, it plays at 6,882 yards in its longest combination. Designed by John Morgan and constructed to exceptionally high standards, it was voted the best new course in England by Golf World magazine almost immediately after it was opened and has hosted the Ericsson Midland PGA Championship for the last three years.

Location
Location: From the South: Take the M1 and change the motorway at junction 32 onto the M18. You have to get off the M18 at junction 5 and change for the M180. When you have reached junction 4 get off the M180 and at the following roundabout take the 1st exit to Scunthorpe. Head on till you reach the next roundabout and take the 2nd exit. The hotel is located on the left hand side. From the North: Take the M62 and change the motorway at junction 35 onto the M18. You have to get off the M18 at junction 5 and change for the M180. When you have reached junction 4 get off the M180 and at the following roundabout take the 1st exit to Scunthorpe. Head on till you reach the next roundabout and take the 2nd exit. The hotel is located on the left hand side.

We turned up at 7.30am to play on a Sunday Morning. The course and the staff were a little frosty. Temporary greens but other than that the course was in good order. When we finished we were invited to return on the same terms in the Summer so made up for the start. Looking forward to going back.

Badly needs signage from Green to next T.
Suggest small arrow on tree as you exit Green to next T,simple and cheap.
Got fed up of wondering around in the wind and rain to find next T,yuk!!

Badly needs signage from greens to next T. Some OK but most not good at all.Suggest small arrow on tree next to Green that is being vacated.cost=minimal.

Fantastic Layout. Condition alway very good, greens getting better by the year. Good for winter golf as good drainage means always dry. Pro shop and drinks on the expensive side.

had a fantastic day here the course is in great shape, and is very testing, Big credit to the green keeping staff ,the greens are amazing,and very true ....5 STAR COURSE....
...but bewere the bar is a little pricey....

This one of the best courses I have played for value for money through golshake tee times.
When it says forest pines it means forest pines.
A must for all golfers who like to play different courses.
I would like to meet anybody who plays there once and says they would not like to play this course again.

Go and try this one.
Three loops of 9 holes and each one diferent as chalk and cheese.
With the hotel and complex it is worth ervey penny you spend.
Another to visit as often as you can.

Awesome! Best course I've played so far. Great set up and friendly staff. Was booked for Pines 18, but as busy staff recommended we switch to Forest, but in reverse. Tough course but loved it. Top quality all round and a bargain on teeofftimes for £20. Will be back and try another of the 3 options

WOW!!! Just back from my 30th birthday golf weekend at Forest Pines, booked with Golfbreaks. Fantastic course and facilities. We had an amazing deal and had a great time, the course played quite long but that was due to time of year as we had no roll with tee shots etc.. Would like to go back and play in the summer, when the trees are in bloom.
All in all a great course and hotel, would recommend to anyone, especially a group.

Despite the harsh winter and continued popularity of this course it is in great shape. The three loops of 9holes provide variety over a weekend break and they are as they have been for years now the best golf courses for miles around. All these courses are a good test of golf because greens are rarely anywhere near flat, there are some well placed bunkers, some very "in play" water hazards and the odd OOB to worry about. By far the biggest worry is the trees, and fairways are on the tight side - so be accurate! If you are wayward of the tee you can expect some serious tree trouble (it is called Forest Pines for a reason).
Always a pleasure here - and the beer was good too!
