Wet

Got absolutely drenched due to Storm Betty ... Great course with wide open fairways and generous greens which remained fast despite the rain. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will try again and hopefully be a dry day. Well worth a visit.

Played here end of august as the last leg of our holiday. A bit disappointed to find that the greens had just been hollowtined and HEAVILY sanded. It was simply impossible to put on them. Course was ok, pro was pleasant but if we’d have known the state of the greens we’d have just drove home. Probably spoiled by the other courses we played, but we all thought it was very early in the year to do this work. But ha Ho, had a knock!!

Enjoyable round in a very nice setting. Staff and players friendly and welcoming. Course very well maintained. Interesting closing stretch needing accuracy and with some tricky strategic challenges, found some of the earlier holes a little lacking in variety.

Not brilliant

Played as 3 three balls, as part of a 4 day golf break. Facilities are pretty basic, with little atmosphere and unwelcoming staff. Greens were very good, but bunkers and fairways were not. Surrounds we’re in poor condition, appears unloved. Practice facilities were very poor. Very few stand out holes, with all the par 5’s playing into a strong wind. Didn’t stay for a drink afterwards as the place had a distinct lack of atmosphere. Really annoying when two pairs and a single player were allowed to tee off on the 10th; just as we were playing the 10th and 11th. Had to wait whilst they played through.

Great value parkland course

Played here when on holiday and whilst there may be much more picturesque courses on the Gower, this was great value for money and a very friendly course with some lovely parkland holes.

Lovely track to play on

Played here in May 2019 and Fairwood was definitely our favourite of the 3 courses we played around Swansea. Accuracy off the tee is important as I found out to my cost! It is tight in spots and trees hug the fairways on almost every hole. Greens were rolling nicely too.

Clubhouse is a quaint old building with a certain charm to it! Staff were helpful and friendly too.

Lovely parkland course

Played here on 5th August 2017 (Score 31 points, H/C 12.1)

Nice layout, especially on the back 9. Greens rolled true and consistent. The rough was also very well maintained, not even the 26 handicapper in our group lost a ball!

Good pint in the bar afterwards, and found the members to be friendly.

Lovely Course, well maintained!

Loved playing this course, I play regular weekends with a gentleman who's older than myself. This course is the flattest course we've played in South Wales area which suited him perfect. Many of the older members I was speaking to also said they joined because of how flat it was compared to other local courses! The fairways, rough and greens are very well maintained. Really loved this course, the holes are interesting to play and the members were all very welcoming. Thinking of joining myself very soon.

Nice big changing rooms on site, club house with a pool table, snooker table and tv's. Although the clubhouse is a bit dated it adds to the character of the facilities.

Lovely practice putting greens by the first tee, nets are also available.

Best of our week

returned last week after a months golf in the Mumbles, all the courses were good but Fairwood got top marks from the boys. Although they had 2 weeks of heavy rain prior to our round the course was excellent and a challenge to all.

Really nice course to play

Played on 2nd June 2017. Weather was nice which helps, but the course was immaculate in presentation. Greens were lovely to putt on. Lost a couple of balls in the lakes but that was my fault. Recommended!

The course was in fairly good nick considering the weather the few days before.
The greens are quite tricky to read but a beautiful course to play.
