This traditional Members Club was founded in the early 1960's by five local businessmen who were keen to see a golf club in the City.
Having acquired the site of an old prisoner of war camp and bought some available fields, a nine hole course was opened in April 1961.
This facility was enlarged to 18 holes in 1973 and the opening of the course on the 4th July 1973 saw a famous challenge match between the then "Open Champion" Lee Trevino and top South African professional Hugh Baiocchi. Lee Trevino won the match with a score of 66 against a 67 by Baiocchi.
With the growth of the many trees on the course and the compact nature of the layout, the course demands straight driving and accurate iron play.Book a Tee Time

Attractive, varied and interesting course that belies the flat surroundings of the fens. Well groomed.

Nice track, played with a member so was £21 @ weekend. Bunker work going on, will have to play again when work complete. Lots of trees, so stray shots will get punished. Nice large clubhouse.

Played this on County Card - Half Green Fee cost £17. Pretty course, but windy on the day we played - not very busy, and got round in 4 hours as a 3 ball, but waited on most shots for a slower 3 ball in front of us.
