East Bierley opened its doors in 1929 and prides itself on its friendly, community feel.
Its single-storey clubhouse,pictured, opened in 1990, acts as a social club for the south Bradford village.
Like many nine hole courses, East Bierley has had to move with the times.
For many years it had a professional who doubled up as the greenkeeper, but changing times mean that the two functions are now separated.
Golf has changed, too, and as technological advances for equipment made the ball fly much further, so East Bierley rose to the challenge.
In the last few years, the club bought some surrounding land and was able to lengthen the course. With initial help from the Sports Turf Research Institute and two years in the development, most of the work was done in-house, reflecting the ‘can do’ approach of many nine-holers.
Four new holes were created – for example, the ninth hole became 100 yards longer, from a medium length par four to a genuine par five.
The result is a much tougher course which is keenly appreciated by the membership.
The club plays its full part in the Bradford Union of Golf Clubs, entering teams in the Scratch League, 8-15 League, Rabbits League and Junior League. The club also fields Ladies teams in various Leagues.

Nice little 9 holer.
Some good variety on the holes despite the tight boundaries.
Have to watch for golfers on adjacent fairways but the course was in good nick and forced you to think about the type of shot you played.

Appologies to Alex M if he did not recieve a warm welcome at the club, we are a small club and apreciate any visiting players and all members should try and make them feel welcome. Our stewardess June, and her partner Tony the chef
always welcome guests, and Tony's food is known as the best in the area.
I would hope anyone thinking of visiting the club will not be put off, please play and then leave coment in the sugestion book and the commitee will address any problems.

a decent little 9 holer, some good fairways and well designed greens, dont slice your tee on the par 3 4th, youll be on the road.....(never happened to me) only problem is the members can be quite rude, like in westerns when a strainger walks in to a bar and the piano guy stops, bit like that, ah well, be right not driving, part from the par 5 9th. oh and bring the exact fee, theres no till you put your money in a box, weird
