Great course situated inside Doncaster Horse Racetrack and on the top of a really old tip. Drainage is fantastic due to it being basically on years and years of ash! The course is tight, not as short as you might think but a good test. The greens are the best in the area by far!

Took advantage of there twighlight offer just a tenner to play after 4pm, there was evening racing on last night so only the back 9 can be played after 5pm due to a few of the front 9 running parallel to the race course so played the back 9 twice, as stated above the clubhouse is situated across the road so you have to cross over enter the race course to get to the course, there's a large practice area and putting green.

The course was in excellent condition and greens a credit to the staff, although relatively short the course definately doesn't play short and is a real test it's not a course where you can just unlease the driver on most holes you have to try and plan your way around to achieve a good score, will definately be back to sample the front 9.

Was surprised how good the course was, as it sits in the middle of a horse racing track. The course is undulating with plenty of different holes to play. Has some good risk and reward holes to take on if you are feeling up to it. Strange set up, with club house being one side of a main road, so have to use a crossing, then a bit of a walk past the practice area and the small putting green to get to the first tee. Greens are very undulating and still fast for the time of the year.

Very well maintained course the Greens are challenging.Down side is the walk from club house to course and back,
Had a society match there we were well looked after and got a good deal on the Breakfast before & meal after

I played at Doncaster Town Moor GC on Friday 28th November 2008.

A relative of mine is a member here so everytime I'm up in Doncaster I normally get a round in here.

There was a frost on the ground when we started (10am) but all the greens were being used.

The greens were in a good condition but due to the weather and the frost melting in the sunshine they were very soft, so held a ball really well.

The fairways were in a good condition. There is a nice mixture of fairways, some wide and others tight. The 13th, par 3 hole is a real gem.

My only problem on the day was the tees. They have moved some of them to temporary tees, not mats, real grass tees but not the ones that they use during the summer. The grass on them was very long and some of them were uneven.

A couple of tees had been moved forwards so you lose 100 yards from the length of the hole.

Everytime I've played here the bunkers look well but they lack any depth with the sand, it's less than an inch deep. Once you realise this you know not to splash the ball out but to pick it out cleanly.

A large, friendly bar and a small pro shop complete the setup.

I do like playing here and would recommend anybody to have a round of golf here if they are in the area.

COURSE IN GOOD CONDITION FOR THE TIME OF YEAR, GREENS WERE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, £19.50 FOR 1 ROUND BACON SANDWICH, AND A HOT MEAL AFTERWARDS, EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY
