De Vere Carden Park
Cheshire Course (De Vere Carden Park)
The par 72 Cheshire course at 6,653 yards has hosted several Championships including the Cheshire and North Wales Open. It has impressive characteristics with a sandstone cliff and coniferous forest.
18 holes. Par 72. 6653 yards. Woodland.
The Nicklaus Course (De Vere Carden Park)
The setting of the Par 72 Nicklaus Course, with numerous hazards and spectacular holes across streams and lakes and views over the border to the Welsh Hills is outstanding. This is only the fourth course that the golfer of the 20th century turned his hand to and is described as a "thinking man's golf course" with double option holes on the 7th and 15th where golfers have to choose which fairway to attack the green from.
18 holes. Par 72. 6302 yards. Parkland with lakes. Contact Information

I have played this course before, but the greens on this occasion where very poor, there were a lot of pitch marks all over the greens and they where spiked to, very hard to read the ball across the green.

played both courses last week with a group of friends and i can honestly say that they were the worst conditioned courses i have ever played!! So bad that when we returned home we complained but are still awaiting a satisfactory answer. Why so bad? Tees so far forward holes were mickey mouse, tee markers broken, playing off mats, fairways and surrounds on cheshire course as bare as a babys backside and covered in wormcasts, NO sand in bunkers, rakes with only 4 teeth, pins and hole cups that looked 5 years old, flags that had elastic bands around them so you could not pick them out (told they do that if its windy, not even a one club wind) now we come to the greens which were covered in disease (both courses) to the extent they were almost not worth putting on. They party i went with consisted of county players, agronomist, course manager and they all agreed on how bad it was, the course manager even commented that he would have been ashamed to work there and would have been sacked for imcompetance if it had been his course. This is not a very good advert for De Vere as a whole and we felt for the organiser who was a member of the De Vere club and who used his credits to gain a reduced green fee. Warning do not go there until next June a earliest in my professional opinion.

As part of a De Vere corporate membership, I've played here a few times.
The course is an established parkland and one of my favourites. You need to score heavily on the front 9 as the back gets a little harder.
Highlight of the round is to take a few moments out of your round on the 18th tee and view the scenery. It's stunning as you stand perched on a sheer drop with views across the Cheshire/Wales plains. Your drive drops down to the fairway, some 50ft below. The Course
