Lakes (De Vere Belton Woods)
The superb 6,831 yard championship Lakes Course has been beautifully sculptured and shaped with plenty of water making for many a testing approach shot. With so many prominent water features, the golfer has to think on every shot played. The course also boasts the par-5 9th, one of the longest holes in the country at 609 yards.
18 holes. Par 72. 6831 yards. Parkland with lakes.
Woodside (De Vere Belton Woods)
The second course is the Woodside which is another challenging championship track measuring 6,623 yards. It is probably more forgiving to the higher handicapper and features gently undulating fairways and natural hazards.
18 holes. Par 73. 6623 yards. Woodland.
Red Arrows (De Vere Belton Woods)
The third course at Belton Woods is a tricky little par 3, nine hole course called Red Arrows. It's perfect for anyone starting out in the game or if you're just looking to hone your short game between rounds.

Location: From the North A1 to Gonerby Moor Services, take B1174 towards Great Gonerby. Follow signs for Manthorpe / Belton. At T junction, turn left onto A607. Hotel is 1/2 mile on the left. Follow signs for Belton House. From the South A1 to Gonerby Moor Services, ignoring previous signs for Grantham, turn right onto B1174 towards Great Gonerby. Follow directions as above.

'Lakes - As the name suggests water is a prominent feature on this 18. The longer of the two courses but lucky to have a sister course just as good. Perfect for a weekend break.
Woodside - A bit more forgiving than the lakes but still a good test. More open but with trouble elsewhere. Tricky to pick which one we like better...in fact impossible.'

Fantastic, real thinking course, lots of unseen traps, big water everwhere but unseen from the tees, what looks to be a lateral water hazard as a stream turns out to be a 40 yard wide lake when in range, this course will catch out the big hitters and some well thought out traps make the course really interesting, I hit 8 over normal round and we had members with us telling about the hazards and ideal positions, they said that a 120 round for a medium handicapper is not out of the norm. Great course and hotel, better course out of the 2 on site.

Nice, open golf course with water coming into play on a few holes. Greens were large and tricky to read. Course in a good condition for the time of the year. Nothing spectacular, but worth playing if you are in the area.

A well kept course that was quite challenging for a high handicapper like me (20). Keeping the ball straight is vital to a achieving a decent score, and knowing how far you can hit each club. The facilities are excellent but quite expensive. Value for money if you can cash in on one of their many deals.

We preferred the Woodside Course at Belton Woods. The Lakes Course, despite its billing as the main course was a disappointment. There were a few very good holes but also one spell where long holes were flat and arrow straight.
Our disappointment was such that after booking 2 rounds on the Lakes and 1 on The Woodside, we switched before we had even played The Woodside!
The greens are fast and true and I was still putting a few feet past the hole even after 3 rounds on them.
The teeing areas and fairways were poor!
The friendliness and service at the hotel were second to none!
The food was excellent and plentiful.

I would start by saying that the whole experience was overall great.
The greens were the best I have ever played on and I really enjoyed both course layouts.
The hotel, staff, food etc were all excellent.
The only let down was the fairways. They were in very poor condition for a venue of this calibre. The fairways were "scabby" with tufts of grass between bare patches. This led to poor lies even in the middle of the fairway. This would not, however stop me returning. I would just like to see them improved.

One of two 18 hole course here and it always divides opinion as to which one is the best. The name here gives a lot away with hazards waiting on I think about 13 of 18 holes in various situations. Another good test of golf from De Vere and one that makes a good weekend stopover!

There are two 18 hole courses here.
None of them are easy for the average golfer but they are both well worthe having a go at.
The eighteenth on one of them has a fantastic challenge with a rather large fountain and pond to contend with.
Lots of challenging holes and if you come of with a good card you know you have played your golf well here.
With the deals you can get on golf shake tee times it is a must to play.

Played both courses, looks superb but unfortunately the greens were a let down, will improve I'm sure, very dry just needs a few nights of rain to allow the course to play to it's full potential.
Hotel spotlessly clean and very comfortable, very helpful staff although I have to agree with previous posters bar prices were a little on the high side.
I've rated as I have due to the great deal I managed to secure.

Played here two years ago with a small group of just eight of us and enjoyed both courses, some very chalenging holes on both especialy on the lakes which lives up to its name as most greens are guarded by water, and with one of the longest par 5s in europe at over 600yds, some of the best greens i'v played on fast and receptive and very well looked after. Greate hotel and facilities with very welcoming staff, food was realy nice too but the price of drinks in the bar realy hits the pocket, if u barter with them a little u can get some great weekend deals with 2 rounds of golf bed breakfast and eavning meal. I am very much looking forward to playing both courses again at the end of the month in a small tornament of just 16 players.

Course had suffered a bit from a bad winter (like most) and was a mix of standard, some almost bland holes, and quality challenging holes with water guarding many greens. I would play again as good value for money.
