Not a winter course

The wet weather has taken a big toll on this course with large areas extremely muddy and the greens have been badly sanded. This was done as the greens had a disease we were told. Avoid this as there are better condition courses locally

We go to Bournemouth every year on a golf tour and this was our first and last visit to Crane valley never have I experience such poor service at a golf club the marshall was so rude and clearly lack knowledge of golf after having a word with us about speed of play when we lost a hole on the group in front the only reason being they came all the way back to the tee as they failed to play provisionals!!!! a hole later we were behind them and waiting again as we were all round waiting for every shot!! The bar was not good either had a hour wait for food the food was ok and there was only one copy of a menu which is just poor planning at a clearly very busy golf course to busy as it was jammed all day!!! will never return and save your self the bad experience when there are so many great golf courses in this area!!!!

To me I was very disappointed with my day here. OK it was in March, in fairly strong wind but I would not go rushing back for another round. Due to the weather the ground was rather soft but will not complain about that, but to area was just too open

I played this course on a rainy day in March. The only thing I cold recommend was the fantastic cooked breakfast.

Disappointing

Very slow pace of play two hours thirty for nine holes as a three ball. Main problem is that the grass is not properly layered off the fairway. The ball would just roll off the fairway and you are looking to find it.

So, I was a full member here for about 3/4 years - lovely people play here, great staff etc but in the last year or so something seems to be terribly wrong with the greens. I love a putt or three so greens are very high on my wish list - so I'm afraid Crane Valley is out of bounds for the foreseeable.
In addition it appears many members/visitors are illiterate as cannot read large signs placed around course to guide trolleys away from wet areas that need protection.
Huge pitchmark left by group before on 6th tee, maybe they were so proud of being so close they left it for us to see.
Some temp tee boxes but while badly needed tee reconstruction underway but they are too small. On 15th - driver is needed and there really is not enough room to let the big dog out unless you are adept at playing with heels in mid air.

Nice course and good variety of holes, however the greens were all awaful, under repair very hard and sandy, don't understand why they can't do half the holes at a time!

The woodland course is the small 9 hole course and is neglected when it comes to maintenance due to the 18 hole course taking priority.

Disappointing. At the time the green keepers were heavily cutting the rough, grass cuttings were across fairways and fringes of greens so the ball was frequently slowed.

Disappointing

Played the 9 hole Woodland course and was very disappointed. There was no map of the course available so we had to assume where the green was on the longer holes. A number of the tees had artificial grass with no real option to play from real grass. The fairways were not close mown so swallowed balls and if you missed a fairway it was awfully long! The greens were in a poor condition with a lot of sand in bald patches. If the course had been maintained better it would have been very enjoyable, but we won't be going back.

Good beginners course in nice setting

Undulating and nice fairways. Ditches border the fairways so beware. Later holes are a bit short but you need to be accurate if you want to get par.
