The reception was a good start, information in the pro shop provided what our society needed prior to play.
Opening meal prior to play was good guality. Course Marshall took group photo before the first four ball teed off, which was not asked for, yet it was offered freely.
Course was in good condition considering the rain we had in the week, greens were fast yet true.
One cause for concern, ladies two ball prior to our tee off moved well and pulled away from the three four balls, who stayed in contention with each other although at the turn were one hole behind the two ball.
Three ball with buggies behind last four ball must have contacted the Course Marshall, who could see that the three four balls were all in contention being one stroke apart it is a game not a race that his remarks to the members of the last four ball seemed a little over the top.
Lunch was booked for 30mins after last four ball. which ended up that we were nearly an hour ahead of schedule.
Only that small downer

The Button has been greatly improved over the two years making it a more challenging course with added water features. I love it, still only £15.00 as a guest, greens have had a hammering this winter but will no doubt improve now the weather is changing.

I,ve played both courses and i think the macintosh is the better one, more forgiving off the tee and is kept in slightly better condition. However at just £15 per round the button is a bargain, but if you dont hit it straight could struggle. Overall its a really good test for all.

Having been a member of Cottrell Park for 2 years I have recently left for another club. whilst the facilities are great and the staff very efficient, the course is overplayed and innundated with societies to the detriment of the members. I found myself struggling to get tee times and out on the course could take in excess of 4 hours on a regular basis.
