Previously forming part of the castle grounds the 18 hole course is also bounded by the Llangollen Canal. Location: Follow signs for Chester/Wrexham A55/A483 Join the A483 heading towards Wrexham, stay on the dual carriageway until you see signs for Oswestry A483 and the dual carriage way turns into a single. After approx 1 mile you will come to a roundabout, take the turning for A5 Llangollen/Chirk. At the bottom of this road you will come to another roundabout, turn right. Approx 1/4 of a mile down you will see signposts for the golf course.

I attended a society recently and having not played this course before i found that both the 9 hole and full 18 holes are in excellent condition. There are not many places where you can play a course 7000+ yards (off whites) that is only £25 weekends. Go see for yourselfs

Do not miss this course if your in the area (ie within 70 miles), this course is very good.
Although you go around the outside moving in you do not feel this nor are any of the holes the same.
Water and ditches work well with the normal hazards like bunkers and mounds oh and not to forget the trees......loads of them
The greens are brilliant, well maintained and run true, lots of borrows to work out.
My one moan is that we couldn't play off the whites, but I am going back with some more mates for the day rate..........................

Played with a group of 12 on Sunday 04.10.09. Corse obviously very good good but extensive work being carried out on greens totally spoiled the day. The reaction of club pro was non existent, just take the money attitude, real shame that has meant we will not be back!

Played this course on a club away day. Generally in good condition, bunkers well maintained and quick greens. The faiways gave you no run and generally the ball just plugged rather than bounced despite a few days good weather beforehand. I think this course could get really wet in the winter.

Big course with long fairways , I believe one of the par fives was one of the longest in Europe played this in constant drizzle but still enjoyed it. You'll know you've had a walk when you finish the 18th
