Caversham Heath Golf Club
The course is fully irrigated throughout the summer months and remains dry during the winter ensuring a fine round all year long. Water and gorse added to the challenge of length ensure a true test of golfing ability and temperament. This is especially true at the short 17th - a 198 yard par 3 that epitomises the risk/reward hole.Contact Information

2nd time i have played here and really like it. Course is in great condition, fairways, tee boxes and greens all well kept. With the length of the course, the position of the bunkers and with the wind it provides a good challenge. Played using a 2 for 1 voucher so good value as well.

Greens were covered in sand and grass seed which made putting a lottery.

A course that is super long from every tee, so be prepared to hit it hard if you want to score well here. Even once you get to the greens you have only completed half the task in hand, because some of the greens are as undulating as they come.
The one downside I found was the condition of the bunkers, of which 4 of the 5 I went into were very "iffy" with regards the quantity and quality of the sand. But hey, I guess that they're supposed to be hazards, aren't they?
It is certainly worth playing though, and the clubhouse is one of the better ones to discuss the day's play after the round. The Course

Challenging course, well defended by bunkers and with some terrific greens.
Some of the fairways could have done with a bit of work but generally it was in very good condition thoughout.
We had a 2 for 1 voucher which made things reasonable as otherwise the full price visitors fees are a bit steep.

If you are a big hitter and like bunkers you will love this course. I played it on April 9th 2011 in a EWGA medal final. An excellent choice with a variety of challenges throughout the course. The Gorse at times got in the way of play but there is very little water to worry about. Lots of par 4's with only a few par 3's. I loved the width and length of the course with some tricky dog legs making it an interseting course. An extremely friendly, well equipped club with a very friendly Lady Captain and club Pro.

Really nice course. A long course with some terrific greens to keep you on your toes.
Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens were in a good condition.
We played from the white tees and it's a good test of your golf.

A poor review is usually because the player did not play that well. This course is an extremely severe test of ones golfing abilities and because of its difficulty and all round nice experience on and off the course I have become a member.

Good course thats wuite open but in summer the greens are its main defence with lots of break and undulation.
Club house is great, course is normally nice and quiet during the week and food is great value compared to nearly everyone else around.
Could do with a few more deals on the green fees for visitors to get the traffic up.The Course

Played late Saturday afternoon on a cheap rate - course was practically empty. Great course in super condition.
Warning - practise your bunker shots before playing here - it will come in handy!!!!The Course

Nice course but greens weren't great. Also yardage markers seem off and the ball cleaners had no water in. Needs a bit of TLC to make it a really good course. Enjoyable round though.

Found a good deal to play here via Direct Tee Times - £20. A longish, flattish, rather featureless course which is underpinned by the quality of its greens - enormous, very undulating and in excellent condition. Fairways played well. Well bunkered - a few could have been better raked by the early morning green staff. We played at 10.00 and found the course very quiet. Whilst I did not use the clubhouse, prima facie the facilities looked excellent.

Big bruiser of a newish course near Reading. Inland linksy, I guess - requies length off the back tees and a brave attitude into the greens to make a score although the greens are never lightning. Normally not too busy and reasonable green fees although playing on saturday morning is not available to guests (I found out by experience!!!)
