What the club says:
Adrienne Engleman's Course Comments

Cambridge Golf Club has a true test of golfing skill waiting for even the most experienced and established golfer that dares to consider this public course flat and easy! Don't get me wrong, it is a wonderful starting point for any beginner to venture out and obtain a feel for the game, with its generous fairways and not overly punishing rough, but when the wind blows it becomes more tough!

I have always thought, since I first played here, that it should be considered an inland links course. By that I mean that its length and difficulty in the wind make it incredibly worthwhile going about your course management in such a way that you consider playing a great deal of low punch shots under the wind and long chip and runs approaching deceptively undulating greens!

Good course. Worth going if you want a course that is slightly challenging but not to hard for the higher handicapper

Brilliant challenge with today's winds

Great course on a usual day. However today's high winds made for an additional challenge. Will take quite a clean up operation to clear the greens and fairways of debris from the trees.

Good season opener.

Decent course. Few challenging holes, but in good condition. Would happily play there again.

Heacham Manor

Very good course, extremely windy conditions, greens and fairways in great condition for time of year. Great to see a course investing in improvements.

Highly recommend.

Great '' GREAT'' course

From the first to the last, no hole the same. All Brilliant.
If you listen carefully, you never hear the scream Fore, so much space between holes.

First time on this course, which runs alongside the A14 near Cambridge.
Easy access from the main road, but that means a steady hum of traffic noise on the first few holes.
I had been put off playing here by some reviewers stating that the course has too many long, straight, boring holes. We didn’t find it to be boring at all.
Excellent welcome from the guy in the pro shop, who checked if it was our first time there and then showed us to the first tee and pointed out the all-important route to the bar for post-round refreshments.
Excellent value, 18 holes for £10 each as visitors, which I believe was a cheaper rate due to our start time of 12:30.
The greens were true, and considering this was the first day of March we were pleased to find only a couple of squidgy spots on fairways where the wind hadn’t quite dried them out.
Very pleasant afternoon, and we will be back.

returned to this course today for the first time in 5 years and what a VERY pleasant surprise ! the course has matured and come on an enormous amount in that time. the longer par 4`s and the par 5`s play very long into what seems to be a constant head wind ! very tough and challenging. the course and the greens are in excellant condition and for £18 on a saturday, what a bargain. will be back very soon
