Caerleon Public Golf Club
The Broadway, Caerleon, Newport, Gwent, NP18 1AY United Kingdom
Situated close to the M4 near Newport, this nine-holer is a flat parkland layout which is perfect for those who have just taken up the game. At the same time, it's also a place where better players can go for a game if they need to regain their confidence or improve a certain aspect of their game. And, if the problem is very serious, then the club professional is more than willing to lend a hand.Book a Tee Time

This course is quite challenging with a couple of extremely long par 4 holes that only the really big hitters can regularly achieve.
The course retains water so not very good playing conditions after a couple of rainy days. Major work taking place to try to improve the drainage.

There are membership options at this club - contrary to the previous reviewer's assertions. I don't disagree with the other assessments, though. The course is atrocious to play after even the mildest rainfall. It is unplayable for most of the winter (and some recent summers!). Attempts to construct drainage channels appear on recent evidence to have come to nought. It is too low lying, adjacent to the river and below the water table. A great shame as it is a fine course during decent summer weather.

Pay-and-play style course with no membership options. Due to this, playing Caerleon is difficult as ettiquette is not always upheld. The drainage is not the best and it gets difficult to play after (or during) bad weather. The course itself is actually very nice and quite challenging - skinny fairways, long rough and small greens pose quite a challenge.
