Bulwell Forest Golf Club
Noted for being the oldest golf club in Nottingham, Golf has been played at Bulwell since the 1870s, although the club has only existed in its present state since 1902. Set on mature heath land, it’s noted for its undulating land and has many tight fairways and old trees. Five demanding par 3s increase the challenge of playing the course.
It’s not a long course – measuring 5826 yards from the White tees but it still provides a challenge for even the most competent of golfers. Bulwell Forest Golf Club celebrated its centenary in 2002. And until recently it was a municipal club, but in 2004 the Club negotiated a long term agreement with the City Council. Contact Information

At £12, really great value and afternoon off work. Greens were firm and true, not along drag at all would recommend.

A good course to play and good value for money at £12 for weekend fees. However, if you are beginner I would be reluctant to play during peak months on weekends as the course is very compact and tees and greens are often very close together, there will be a lot of shouts and make sure you are upto speed with etiquette. The greens are excellent and are deceptivley fast.

Tricky course with lots of trees, greens don't look great but run true and some are deceptively fast. Signage from greens to next tees not great and some blind shots. Some strange tee locations right behind trees. Generally good course for what you pay

The course is set between 2 rough housing estates. The told us they had problems with locals using the course to walk their dogs. One nicked my ball. WATCH OUT FOR THE DOG MESS.
The greens were in great condition.
No rakes in bunkers, but plenty of stones.
The course gets very compact with 4 holes sort of moulding in to one at one point. A short course but could have potential if there was a way of keeping non golfers off the course.
Staff in clubhouse were very friendly.
Ok in winter if desperate but not a warm day course because of the local kids.
I will not play again if it can be helped. The Course

Not a bad course cheap £12 greens are excelent one of the best i've played. what lets this course down is the tosser's who STEEL your ball. Nice course just the local chavs that spoil it. If the council stopped them walking allover the coures it would be alot better.

Not bad for a Municipal course, drains well in winter so always playable. Not long but you need to be quite accurate.

No longer a muni. Bit miffed by the sign which stated £10 weekdays and £12 at the weekend, we were charged £17, still great value for money. Greens in top condition, all flags in holes but did get a few people walking across course. They didn't look before setting off walking either so could have been nasty. Played off a couple of mats and 1 temp, one mat in a stupid position, had to hit an 8 iron over a tree bang in front of the mat, on a par 4!!!! Made very welcome in clubhouse and breakfast excellent VFM and very very tasty. Overall a 8.5/10.

Good option for a cheap buget. Well maintained but like any munipipal course have to accept the odd inconvenience like no flags on a green, or children walking on fairways. Apart from that a good round.

Nice short course wedged into very little space so sometimes you can be waiting on some holes but having said that i love it. Very good drainage so can get very busy after bad weather

For a municipal course this is a very reasonable and generally well kept course. Although a few fairways had tyre tracks on them from motorcycles deciding it would be good to see if they could burn circles in the turf.
Played this course in December and despite the conditions the course played well. Also the course was going through a hole change but hadn't updated the scorecards so this made it slightly difficult knowing where to go and scoring for visitors. The Course
