The greens were superb, quick and lots of dips and angles. Tough course on the legs, recommend a cart.(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 94 Handicap: 20.6)

Immaculate golf challenged
This course is set in breath taking countryside and represents a true test of golf, with huge undulating greens that can bite hard(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 93 Handicap: 16.9)

not many better in hertfordhsire
Amazing to see Brocket getting back to its best after the issues over the past couple of years clear to see that they have learnt from there mistakes.Played the Palmerston which was the best i ve seen it in years along with the Academy which was as good as it has been since i was a member as a junior many years ago.
The whole place once again looked in great condition and well looked after. Was like playing millionaires golf. Please brocket keep up the good work when this place is good there is nothing better in the area.
If i had the money i would join in an instance

A lot of effort has gone into revitalising the course, very true greens.

Great course
Staff and food amazing, course in great condition for time of year. Green rolled very true but very tricky as not a flat straight putt to be had.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 97 Handicap: 19.4)

Some nice and holes and strange holes, very indifferent green speeds. Nice touch finishing over the water on 18.(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 95 Handicap: 11.2)

Melbourne course
Played the Melbourne for a change, not played it in a long while. Friendly starter, nice practise area convenient for the first. Course is a good test, several excellent par 4's, water in play 5 times. Never liked the first hole, apart from that it's the strongest Clark/Alliss layout I know of. Both courses deserve to be in the top 10 in Hertfordshire if we are just talking about design.Sadly, brocket is better known these days for various financial shenanigans, and it's now very obvious in the condition of the course. The quoted green fees are extremely steep, which is fine but I have to judge what is on offer against that price. Fairways are extremely bare after a dry few weeks. Greens pretty good, 8 on the stimp, but you'd expect quicker for the price. Several tees, not to mention the grass practise area, are completely brown, which is bizarre as they have sprinklers, which are obviously not operational. Brocket has to work out how to get some of the several billion gallons of water from the lake onto the course, it really can't be that hard.
Not surprisingly, the course was completely empty. At the moment, it compares very poorly to other courses in the area that ask for rather less money. The academy should be a great selling point, but I visited letchworths a few weeks ago and it is considerably better.
Over rated on here by a lot, needs to get its act together.

Poor
Played the Melbourne course. Pro shop not very helpful or at all enthusiastic about welcoming visitors. And for the price of the green fees the least I would expect is the bunkers to be raked over every morning. Some of them looked untouched for days. This venue and courses deserve much better maintenance, and service than it is getting at present.
