Worst course I've played in years!
Initially I thought I'd gone back in a timewarp! The clubhouse was an old pub, car park was a joke, tees were uneven, no rakes in bunkers hence footprints and un-raked sand, greens bare in places and some of the pin positions were laughable. The entire course was scruffy and clearly in need of some TLC. Sorry but this course is not for me!Reviewer Rating

Avoid!,
We are 16 handicap golfers who play twice weekly on a variety of courses in the £15/20 range.I have never submitted a bad review before, but this place needs avoiding. The rough is unplayable, the tees are poor, the fairways need cutting and it is virtually impossible to hold the greens with approach shots.
We were charged £2.50 more than expected, and when we asked for coffee we were presented with mugs of hot water and told to make our own.
We will not be back, and hope that this review helps others to avoid our mistake of booking a round here

As for the teeing areas, well most are very ,very poor, with very little flat space on them.
The bunkers are shallow and almost not worthwhile, with very hard sand, all of this said it could be very good if they spent the time sorting these things out, well laid out and varied... but i'd think twice about playing here untill they wise up a bit and get the basics right.

to build a good course on !! PITY THEY DIDN'T .
Greens: a mess ( no sprinkler system )
Tees : a bigger mess, most non existent
Fairways; well fair really, at least they were cut
No practice net- AstroTurf putting green ( you've got to be kidding )
Verdict; could be reasonable but needs a very large shed load of work !!!

ONTO THE COURSE. T BOXES HAVE NOT BEEN CUT GRASS TOO LONG. GRASS CUT ON SOME FAIRWAYS BUT LEFT IN BIG CLUMPS, HIT A NICE DRIVE TO
LAND ON FAIRWAY THEN THE SEARCH FOR THE BALL BEGINS UNDER THE GRASS CUTTINGS. SOME BUNKERS HAVE WATER IN THEM SOME HAVE BIG WEEDS GROWING IN THEM. DOG OWNERS JUST LET THEIR DOGS RUN ALL OVER THE PLACE, WHAT IS THE RULE IF YOUR BALL LANDS IN DOG MESS. JUST ABOUT TO T OFF AT THE 18TH WHEN SOME FOOL DECIDES TO USE THE FAIRWAY FOR SOME PITCHING PRACTICE TO THE 18 GREEN WITH HALF A DOZEN BALLS. DONT LET ME GET IN YOUR WAY I SAID AS I GOT NEAR HIM, IM JUST MESSING ABOUT HE SAID YES I CAN SEE THAT WAS MY REPLY AS I PICKED MY BALL UP AFTER JUST 1 SHOT AND WALKED OFF IN DIS-BELIEF STRAIGHT BY THE PORTA CABIN CLUB HOUSE. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOUR AND KEEP AWAY ITS AWFUL WISH I HAD ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK

Not good
The course was in the worst condition I have seen it in all year. Bald patches all over, greens, fairways and as for the rough in some areas, no grass at all.Reviewer Rating

Could be good
Really testing course with a good mix of holes let down by poor course maintenance. Greens are poor and tee boxes left unmowed could be a really nice course with a bit more care.Reviewer Rating
