A great municipal course and usually I'd rate this very good, but some of the greens have taken a battering over the past few months and putting on them is a lottery at times. Other than that, the course is in great shape.

I have played this course many a time and although we are blessed with courses on the Wirral this is a nice test of Gold. Its condition espcially during the winter months are not something to write home about and there is a need for a half way house to sell drinks and supplies ( in my case balls ) but the course is one of my favourites. It is a parkland course where trees can be the bane of your round but sensible play is what is required and it is a shame i dont take my ownadvice. The greens are small and can be better and the fairways needs to be cut more.
However the long par 3s are a test and so is tthe 18th with a OUB right infront of you.The Course

Typical Municipal. greens quite inconsistent. First nine very easy. back nine much tougher. Decent value for money. Not much out of the ordinary-most holes are up and down. Wide open fairways-with one or 2 exceptions-particularly the 16th where I pulled out of bounds-oops!

Great value for money but you can see the pin from all but one of the tees. Greens are quite soft but the course is generally well kept. I play there on a sunday and it doesnt seem like greenkeeper work on the weekend mornings.
