Nice flat "easy" mainly par 3 beauty

Boldmere always a great course to play when you need a break from those long, exhausting "proper" courses. It's a real beauty with mostly flat walkable holes, many of them par 3s (there's one par 5) set next door to Sutton Park and lake. It's not all easy though, there are enough challenges to keep even the most experienced golfers on their toes. Love it!

Nice course. Grew up playing this course over 40yrs and it's getting more difficult with the trees and shrubs growing. Can't wait for the new clubhouse and inprovements, long overdue.

A great course for those who aren't too confident but want a challenge. With some long par 3's this will test some of those regular golfers who are visiting from a different club. This is a very well kept course and can get busy at times - especially when they have 'Tenner Tuesdays' on offer.

Course is generally in good condition. The problem is Mytime golf just let anybody onto play. I played on Sat 1st June and the course was full of young players wearing jeans, tee shirts, training shoes, sharing clubs etc. Even saw some guys practice chipping off one of the greens because of the hold-ups in front of them. Also £18.00 is quite expensive. Avoid on Saturday's during the football off season.

I have played at Boldmere on a number of occasions over the years and for a municipal course it is generally in good condition, the fairways and greens particularly are in good condition. Tee boxes need some tidying up however. It has it’s drainage problems (particularly in the middle of the course) when it has been raining a lot but generally it is usually in decent condition at the least. It is a very short course but there are some long par 3s that are quite interesting but likewise there are also some par 3s which are about 100 yards each, these holes do get a bit boring after a while. Ideal course for beginners although still a decent test for the more experienced golfer. The main issue with Boldmere (along with all the Birmingham municipals) is the value for money factor. This course costs £18 in the summer to play – now when you can get on private courses for the same or similar prices by utilising online deals it really does become quite farcical how much they charge. I played here a couple of weeks ago at 1pm on a Saturday and it cost £18, online I could have played at West Midlands for £21, hawkesyard Estate for £17 and there was numerous other courses offering deals. I have no issue paying full price on a Saturday/Sunday morning but at all other times they really should offer discounted tee times.

Quick round

Only par 62, so short round, worth the money on the twilight offer as was under £13 for 18 holes but not at full price, bunkers are dreadfull no sand in them and greens need some work, and do not take any notice of the 11th tee arrow behind the 11th green as it directs you left but you have just played it ????????

Nice flat municipal and saves time

Always good to play this nice course. A lot of par 3s (10) so takes less time than most courses. Quite flat apart from the little 'annexe' of par 3s (12th-14th holes). Good prices. Part of the former Birmingham City Council municipals now run by 'MyTime'

1st round for 3 months especially after heavy rain. Fairways in quite good condition. Greens had been spiked a lot and too much sand. Fairly good pace of play.

Council type course, cheap and cheerful

11 par 3's on here, was ok. Played it now so won't return unless nothing else available. That's not to put people off as some of these par 3's are very challenging. Had ran out of scorecards so gave us some for a nearby course lol, very strange
