What the club says: Birchwood is an 18 hole championship course designed and built on 240 acres of rolling parkland. Built in the 1970's unlike other golf courses of an earlier design Birchwood offers a challenge to all levels of golfing capability.
The layout provides the player with a variety of shot making which will test the expertise of all fourteen clubs in the bag. Many holes have been designed with water features which bacame an integral part of play. Other holes are tree lined with features involving sand bunkers and grass bankings.

Superb course with excellent facilities. Nicely shaped holes which get you thinking or scratching your head.
(Round played: Jun 2016 - Score: 95 Handicap: 19.4)
Practice facilities good. Chipping green, mini range, nets, and putting green which is the same pace as the 18 holes.
I would definately play this course again, and will do very soon hopefully to try and get some shots back from the middle 6 holes....
Tees great, fairways in good nick, bunkers had sand in, but unfortunately the water was very wet :(

Well presented course in good order..greens were firm and fair...
(Round played: Jun 2015 - Score: 101 Handicap: 18.2)
It's the poorest condition we've seen the course in the past 12 months, to top it off the pro was quite unhelpful and for want of a better word "miserable".
We had a nice round, but there are better courses for the money.
Very welcoming and friendly. Course in splendid condition for the time of year
