A fairly basic course that presents a challenge to beginners. Very good price, scenic and I've found it to be quiet each time I've played there.

For a municipal course it is very well looked after and a pleasure to play on

A wee lovely course, tight, and not forgiving. Brilliant value, had a great time there

Biggar is a lovely parkland course. It is situated in the middle of Biggar Public Park and has a caravan site in the middle of the course.
The course is relatively short and is very flat. There are only two par 5's, both of them under 500 yards in length. The course however, is a good test for those approach shots from 180 to 140 yards in, and it is imperative that this part of your game is in good shape.
The payment area is simple with a little coffee shop, however, there is a bar in the Biggar Golf Club clubhouse.
At under £13 a round, I think it is good value for money.

Biggar is an easy course, very flat and the greens usually run true, so if you’re on your game you can walk away with a good score. A good course for a golf outing, for golfers with different handicaps. Here’s my hole-by-hole report:
Hole 1: Drivable par 4.
Hole 2: Par 4. Big fairway that’s easy to hit, with only a short iron to the green.
Hole 3: Difficult par 4. Cannot see green from tee, with a large bunker in the middle of the fairway. Green is running away from you and requires a clever approach to get close to the pin.
Hole 4: Very long par 4. Fairway is on 2 levels which can make your second shot very long if you don’t get your drive up on the top tier. Bunkers surround the Green.
Hole 5: Par 3. Large bunker in front of green, with the pin usually tucked behind it.
Hole 6: Dogleg (right) par 4. Bunker in the middle of the fairway will either force you down the left, or over the trees to the right. The green dips down and cannot be seen unless you are a big hitter off the tee.
Hole 7: Par 3. Large bunker to the front left of the green, with the pin usually tucked behind it.
Hole 8: Par 5. Stream runs across the fairways, requiring a good drive to clear it, and a brave long approach.
Hole 9: Par 3. Avoid the stream to the right and you will be ok. Green is at the back of the course, so if you’re long off the tee you will be out of bounds.
Hole 10: Short par 3. Bunkers surround the green, however at such a short distance, you should be able to drop it straight onto the green.
Hole 11: Par 4. A chance to get the driver out the bag after 2 par 3’s. Keep your drive to the right hand side of the fairway, and you’ll keep the bunker on the left out of play.
Hole 12: Par 4. Similar layout to previous hole, keep your drive to the right and the bunker on the left won’t be an issue.
Hole 13: Long par 3. It’s a difficult hole this one, it doesn’t look its yardage, so your biggest problem is your club selection.
Hole 14: Par 4 slight dogleg (right). Keep your drive to the left of the fairway and a middle iron to the open green will set you of for a birdie chance.
Hole 15: Par 4. Wide fairway give you a chance to slug your drive without much cost if it goes off target. Open green with small bunker to the right.
Hole 16: Par 5. Unless you can drive 350+ you cannot cut out the dogleg (right). A drive straight down the middle will set you up where you will have to play over the trees on the fairway, or lay up to the left.
Hole 17: Par 4 dogleg (left). An attractive green that can be reached from the tees, however you’ll be flirting with the bunkers that surround the elevated green.
Hole 18: Par 3. With the clubhouse to the left of the green, you want to hit the green from the tees. A mid iron is required, but definitely within range.

course is very flat and very forgiving so doesn't really punish wild tee shots, but still a good day out
