Probably the least fair course I have ever played, the hills mean a good shot can run off into the rough. When a ball does go into the rough you can forget about finding it. Greens were ok when I played but some have been vandalised several times and are showing the results.

Municipal course only drawback are some of the greens they need a bit of loving care but the actual layout leads to a challenging course, a majority of the holes are tree lined enjoyable if you can cope with the greens

Not a lover of courses where even good shots are punished. Ground was rock hard and bumpy so keeping the ball on the fairway was very difficult. Rough was very rough leading to plenty of sideways chips. The greens were very poor, dotted with pitch marks and divots .. yes divots! No rakes in the bunkers and very few tee markers. Jeans, football shirts and jogging bottoms were the norm for the day we played. Even at £8.50 I don't think it is value for money.

Nice freindly club with challenging tees. Much beter than when we played last year, lush fairways, mostly good greens, though the fringes could be better kept!

Public Pay & Play course. Design & Layout is excellent, & testing for all levels of Golfers. Unfortunately the greens are not great, a bit long in places with a few bald patches, & the fairways are very dry, with little or no grass in places! Suggest not to play in the dry season, or at least wait till we have had a couple of weeks of rain... Clubhouse more a glorified portacabin, but offers food & alcohol so not that bad!!

This could be a very very good golf course if it was better maintained. The greens are not well kept with some holes being full of sand filled pot holes, others are very patchy with little grass on some area's. Greens with grass on could do with being a lot shorter. Not kidding but some of the fairways had shorter cut grass! lol
Don't think we found 2 greens the same as the pace was so different from 1 to the next.
Design of the course is good but you need to be hitting straight or you'll get punished with 3 off the tee. Also teeing off uphill on a lot of holes so playing blind for 1st couple of shots!
I'd recommend hiring a buggy as this course is very hilly and if you walk it you'll start feeling it early on the back 9!!
For the money which we paid £6 for it was ok but wont be returning unless greens are vastly improved!! Shame as could be a very fun course to play!!The Course

yer ,needs some work could be a fantastic course, clubhouse is still a torched shell but they are trying with the new Jacks bar, but i see about 20 men sitting on a old patio set making the most of a unfortunate event, im sure for those with little cash at present this is just the job, not for the pompous gits.

Haven't played it for over a year and will never play it again. Terrible rubbish course. Not at all looked after. Greens in terrible condition, fairways not mown. Some holes even had no flags so it really was hit and hope. Only £6 online but to be honest wouldn't play it for free

This course has now been run by the Jack Barker Group. It is well maintained and for the price excedllent value for money. It needs the hole signs replacing and a couple of direction arrows in parts would not go amiss. A very enjoyable round.

This used to be a great course and has the potential to be so again, but it needs some attention. There has always been issues with the local youths and this needs to be tackled before it could return to its former glory (some flags were missing!).
Otherwise a well established course, with tree lined fairways and some testing holes.
I played on a Saturday afternoon/ evening and the twilight rate of £5 after 4pm is brilliant value for moneyThe Course

Course was in good condition however the blind holes are too dangerous and lack of racks in the bunkers was a joke. Challenging course though and not one for beginners.

Good mixture of holes, Front nine is definately tighter than the back. Rough is pretty unforgiving and there are plenty of blind tee shots that you'd benefit in a 2nd round.
13th and 14th greens were really poor but apparently they are working on it. Nice views over the Thames and some very picturesque holes to boot. Worth another trip. The Course

Well laid out course, with long difficult holes amidst mature parkland and woodland. Very hilly and many off camber fairways to deal with. Greens were in superb condition considering the time off year (FEB). We did encounter some walkers and witnes the damage caused by undesirables mentioned above but it wasnt a problem for us on this occasion. The course is under new management and talking to the members it appears that many changes are happening whether they like it or not. The pro shop is completely vacant at present and appears to be work in progress. There are no real facilities to speak off with only a ramshackle portacabin masquerading as a clubhouse. Apparently the new owner has purchased the course as somewhere to use for landfill and intends to line the fairways with eastend rubbish over the coming years. How they will operate a golf course around this i am not sure, but it appears that golf will be 2nd on the priority list very soon, perhaps disposing of rubbish is more profitable than running a golf course. All in all a good course now with noticeably fewer chavs than you would imagine but who knows what it will be like in a year.
