What the club says: Auchenharvie is situated between the town of Stevenson and Saltcoats and is a nine-hole course that can be played as an 18-hole.
The course is one that looks easy to play, but, in fact, is quite a challenge with two water featured holes, long par threes and tight narrow greens. The feature hole would have to be the par four third. A slight dog-leg left, trouble lurks in the form of water to the left of the hole.

Good municipal course

I have played there for several years and like the course layout. If you are a big driver, then 2 of the par 4's are driveable. Makes up for this with 2 difficult par 3's, particularly the 9th, which plays about 220yds.

Time for 9

Play this wee course regularly as its handy for 9 holes which doesn't take the whole day , overall its in decent condition in summer months and winter golf is always a bit hi t and miss condition wise , for me its an enjoyable test but if its picture postcard scenery your after this ain't it , but if you've time for 9 this may be just the ticket .

This round was played after some very heavy rain, not really a true reflection on the course as it was very boggy.

Bought a NAC season ticket for this course for £125 as was starting playing golf again after 15 years. This is a basic council course kept in average condition. Having siad that the course has only been closed for 2 days in the past 3 months. The course has becomed boged down in mud due to this fact.

This is a basic council run course. It has only a few hazards (Water at 2nd & 3rd hole) and has mainly open fairways. This is a good course to build confidence and practice on. Some holes play a decent length (3rd & 6th) and with no need to book a tee time its fantastic for heading to when the mood takes.
