Firstly the course was immaculate, fairways cross cut, tees handmown and the bunkers well presented.
The Greens however were a different league. They were very very quick, a shot topside of the pin was a battle to two putt and the greens were a real confidence test for putting. On the short game side they were a true test again as a chip had to land in the right place to get a good result with a bad shot always ending 10 foot away.
Pitching wise the greens were very receptive taking a high ball or a high spin shot very well but this was complimented by the smooth surface.
All in all the course blew me away by the standard it was presented on and as a Cat 1 Golfer who has played a lot of golf I must admit that this 36 event was the best 36 event I've played and that the course was in the top 5 courses I've played.
The course is a very fair test of a golfer. CSS was +3 for both rounds so that shows the test fair enough and that was without a hint of breeze.
The only criticism is the pin positions which all seemed to be tough with the 18th on the top tier left being the most ridiculous pin/green I've known for a while.
If you get the chance play here. Thank me later.

The course could be good but there is a serious lack of attention example back of 6th green dug up and instead of relaying Green grass replaced with rough three years later still not using and it has not embedded , fairways are very poor no excuses for not filling in divots Mr Greenkeeper played Farnham and not an unfilled divot in sight ! Five hour rounds at weekends common as is Mixed foursomes where they shut the course once a month , I must have been up there 8-10 times last year at weekends and could not play . Clubhouse friendly but course not worth £1100 in such poor condition . Greens are generally long and rolled people blamed the land and said the greenkeeper was doing a good job , well you cannot change the land and so it will never get better. Course is challenging noisy as well with remote controlled cars on the first to planes landing at Farnborough , could be so much better . If you get it cheap its worth a go but there are far better places on 2 fore 1. I for one will not miss " Winter Rules " all season long.

Yes areas of the course would benefit from some attention to detail but in all honesty it is pretty good and the green staff do a great job in maintaining the course
On the whole the greens are very good and during the better months with use of the green iron are excellent and you will struggle to find better. The course does offer a good challenge to all levels of golfer and the green fees are very good value for money.
Pro shop is very well stocked and very friendly.
Nice club house that is better than it looks.
In summary i would recommend anyone play the course as it is very cheap in comparison to other courses in the area and worth the money. I personally find it is at its best in May and jun as its very green and colourful but it is worth playing at any time of the year.

In the summer you have to watch your ball to a finish even if you smash it straight down the middle as some of the bonces have to been seen to be believed, this is somewhat due to poor fairway coverage and also patchy grass coverage in areas you would expect to be better.
As a one off with a member it is cheap and worth playing in June, July, August and sept only.
