This is a fabulous course and club. The staff are wonderful, the food is really good value and the course......very well designed and in amazing condition all year round. The greens are amazing (and I am a member of Royal Birkdale), true and with reliable pacing.
There are challenging holes and open wide areas and so suitable for all abilities, the Bell Hole will tempt you to draw it in form over a bubbling brook!
You really should try it and there is a wonderful self catering place on the course called cuckoo's Nest (not sure why!) which has reduced green fees.

This is a very quirky course,sheep roam the fairways and the greens are fenced in.
I enjoyed this course in fantastic Lake District scenery,rolling hills in the background.
The course is very windy and dry all year round.
