Rate Helpful
Excellent layout of a testing but rewarding course. Big hitters must be accurate as there is only a small margin for error- bunkers, streams and lakes are very well positioned. The greens were on the quick side but ran true and were well maintained.Plenty of balls lost but the welcome in the clubhouse afterwards could not be bettered. The service, quality and quantity of the dinner was first rate.

Not worth paying the green fees at the moment for this course. Played on this course yesterday and still plenty of green and fairway preparation required. Probably needs another month before course is up to cratch.Reviewer Rating

This is a terrible golf course, epitomising everything that is wrong with modern golf course design. From the nonsense of the opening hole to the drag of the last, I shall be happy not to return here. Awful.

I think this course is over rated and over priced and I am not being as harsh as I might only because it has Seve's name attached to it. 18 samey long holes that make it a proper grind. There are much nicer golf courses for less money all around it. Loved Seve to bits but golf course design was not his greatest skill.

I don't enjoy playing this course but I've played it on many occasions all in charity events for good causes

Lovely difficult greens at The Shire took a bit of time to get used to them, ball runs a lot even on good pitches. Course very wet after a previous day of all day rain so not in best condition. Very little run on fairways as cold too!!

Tough Conditions
Due to the recent rain the conditions under foot was tough, perfect strikes required. Also the greens have been spiked and sanded so again judgement of pace and line very challenging. Waiting for better conditions.Reviewer Rating

I have to give credit where credit is due, this course has never been a favorite of mine but on Saturday it was in the best condition that I have ever seen it in.
I don't know if they have new green keeping staff but the course was in good condition.

Interesting course
Rather an unconventional course. The mix of 6 par 3's 4's and 5's makes it interesting but not something I would repeat. Not a great course design. The 18th is a hopeless hole. Very pretty and I am sure a challenge for the pros but for club golfers no good. The obsession with Ballesteros wears you down.Reviewer Rating

Interesting and varied course. Lots of slopes and water. Mostly good condition, especially the greens but quite a few bunkers were GUR

Golfshake 10th Anniversary
The choice of tees for this match was too short. I don't feel like I was allowed to play my game. Too many fiddly holes. The course was in good shape except for the bunkers which didn't have enough good sand in them.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 90 Handicap: 7.5)
