What the club says: At just under 6,000 yards, Lothianburn may be short by today's standards, but with a SSS of 69 against the par of 71 and some very slick putting surfaces, it represents a solid test for golfers of all levels.

Lothianburn Golf Club was established in 1893 and is situated at the foot of the Pentland Hills, just a mile south of Scotland's Capital City, Edinburgh.

Fantastic course, very very hilly but fantastic course. The views over Edinburgh are spectactular and there are quite a few holes that do the confidence a power of good when you can hit and go through a par 4 green at 300 yards.

Decent course, bit hilly in places and quite challenging. After the 15th the last few holes were a bit of a let-down. Clubhouse was nice.

get the pack horses and sherpas out for this one! it's the golfing equivalent of the north face of the Eiger! starts of lulling you in but you're gradually making an ascent on the Pentland hills - really enjoyed the course - magnificent views, cracking holes - unlike any ohter course i've played. Highland Cattle running amok on the hills at the top, all very good. I didn't really think i'd be looking down on the ski slope - but i was!
All kidding aside not to be tackled if your not in reasonable health.
The course is in excellent condition and would be happy to play again.
