Forrester Park is a long and undulating golf course. It is a relatively new course which lacks the character and maturity that most golfers enjoy. There are a few excellent holes, the 10th hole is an excellent par 4 requiring a good tee shot to avoid the TEN bunkers placed between tee and green! the 11th which was my favourite hole requires a well placed tee shot and a long iron over a pond to the green which is guarded by a well placed bunker The course layout is very good in places although there are a few holes which are poorly laid out. The 8th (long blind shot to green), 16th (tricky to hold green with 2nd shot) and 17th (which runs parallel with the 8th) is a blind shot to the green as well, I don't have a problem with blind shots but these holes are poorly designed. There seems to be a few internal out of bounds, clearly these are required as there are a lack of mature trees to define fairways throughout.
The greens are very big and designed to USPGA standards, these were found to be in excellent condition. The tees were a bit bumpy with long grass and did not match the quality of the greens. The distance markers were poorly positioned and not consistent throughout, this is very frustrating for a visitor. Whilst the width of the fairways is generous the rough seems punishing and needs to be kept better maintained.
This is not a traditional golf course with the normal member/visitor facilities. Paul in the Pro shop was very friendly and helpful whilst the notorious Mrs. Forrester was nowhere to be seen (phew).
Overall, this is a course worth playing.

Forrester Park has just had it's Spring Mixed Open including food (so the Wee Yellow Book informs us)! All lies! We turned up this morning to play the mixed and was surprised to find 4 men teams playing in the same competition. What kind of mixed was this? However, having made the journey we decided to play the course and see what like it was as it cost £25 per couple. Terrible! No course markers visible for people playing the course for the first time. Tee's not clear and it is the first time I have crossed a tee to get to a tee. Anyway no food and no fun! Won't ever be back.

Played in the Mixed Spring Open 4BBB, advertised as £25.00 per couple inc. food, on arrival was told that the inc. food was a misprint, we then watched 4 men tee-ing off in the competition and when we queried this was told that it was open to everybody, surely then this should have been advertised as a 4BBB, any combination as I have never seen 2 men playing a mixed open!!! a lot of mixed couples had the same opinion. I believe that they have deliberately misled couples and conned people to pay £25.00 for an open without food, it is the most expensive MIXED open we have ever payed for and the cost certainly did not justify the course. Will never be back.

I was recently invited on as a guest by a member and I enjoyed the course and the greens where great. Didn't like the idea of internal out of bounds . And I asked a lady at the bar called Beth why they didn't have many distance markers and her reply was if I didn't like the course then I should f...of terrible attitude and language from a old lady . Wouldn't return

I found the owner Elizabeth Forrester to be terribly ignorant and I did not feel welcome their as a paying customer . The course was in good condition how ever the really bad attitude of Elizabeth made it a day I would like to forget

Course is very hilly and has a lot of blind shots to greens. The markers are also poorly situated around the course.
However, the greens were in excellent condition and proved to be a really good test.
