It's Official! Fairmont St Andrews is Scotland's Top Resort

Fairmont St Andrews, the five-star accommodation at the Home of Golf, has been acclaimed as Scotland's leading resort in the 2015 World Travel Awards.

It is the fourth occasion that the outstanding destination has secured an award at the annual ceremony, regarded by many as the ‘Oscars' of the travel industry.

In 2002 it was heralded as Europe's leading golf resort; in 2009 it was awarded the title of Scotland's leading golf resort; and, a year later, it was acclaimed as Scotland's leading golf resort and spa.

What's more, the stunning resort, which sits in a majestic cliff-top location overlooking the North Sea and the historic ‘Auld Grey Toon', has been nominated as Scotland's best golf hotel in the ‘sister' honours, the World Golf Awards, while its two championship courses - the Kittocks and the Torrance - are both in the running for Scotland's best golf course.

Votes are cast by professionals working within the golf travel and tourism industry - senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and media professionals - and members of the public, online at the World Golf Awards website. Voting closes on September 27 and winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Conrad Algarve, on Saturday, November 7.
