By: Golf Shake | Wed 05 Aug 2015

Abu Dhabi Golf Club has announced that it has been chosen by Dave Pelz to be the new UAE home of his immensely-popular Scoring Game Schools.

Revealing better ways for golfers to practice and play, Pelz is world-famous for his unparalleled short game knowledge, applying a practical, scientific approach to golf instruction, honed through years of research with many of the game’s headline golf professionals and avid amateur golfers alike. Pelz’s selection of Abu Dhabi Golf Club now allows players in the Middle East to benefit from the ultimate in short game tuition, with invaluable, in-depth insight into Pelz’s philosophy.

Abu Dhabi Golf Club

As host to the European Tour’s revered Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, which celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this year, Abu Dhabi Golf Club is steadfast in its aim to provide members and guests a unique premium golf experience, in keeping with its management company, Troon Golf’s ethos. Utilising the venue’s stunning practice facility, The Golf Institute by Troon Golf, players taking part in the Scoring Game Schools will be based in a fun and inspiring destination to practice their games in some of the best golf instruction facilities the Middle East has to offer, before heading off to the Peter Harradine designed National course to put practice in to play.

“We are delighted to have been selected as the new UAE home of the Dave Pelz Scoring Game Schools, to have such a renowned golf coach choose us is testament to the dedication of so many and its extremely pleasing to the see the team’s hard work come to fruition,” commented Paul Booth, General Manager, Abu Dhabi Golf Club. “We look forward to welcoming all participants to Abu Dhabi Golf Club this year, and for many years to come, as our relationship with the leader in short game tuition grows.”

Regarded as one of the world’s finest coaches, Dave Pelz has dedicated over 35 years to studying the game. Founding his namesake golf school and clinics in 1982, Pelz has gone from strength-to-strength ever-since, as both amateurs and professionals seek the wisdom of the true legend of the short-game, including his most famous student, five-time Major Champion Phil Mickelson.

“Abu Dhabi is a fantastic location for our schools, with Abu Dhabi Golf Club representing the perfect host thanks to their immaculate practice and training facilities, which are an essential element in the nurturing of short-game technique,” commented Pelz. “With the added benefit of guaranteed sun on our backs, coupled with its reputation for excellence in keeping with Troon Golf’s standards and stunning accommodation on-site, I have no doubt that creating a school at Abu Dhabi Golf Club is the right choice for my pupils to improve their games.”

Abu Dhabi Golf Club will be hosting the comprehensive Three-Day Scoring Game Clinic from November 5th to November 7th, with prices starting from $2,500. The clinics represent the premier Dave Pelz-designed golf instruction experience, incorporating video and feedback devices as well as the latest Pelz research designed to help golfers play all the shots on and around the green with confidence and consistency. Much more than a simple "golf lesson", these three-day golf schools are the most effective way to lower your handicap. Accommodation at The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa is available on separate request.

Further dates are planned in December 2015 and in April 2016. For more information, please visit www.pelzgolf.com, send an email to [email protected] or call +353 1 6893030.
